This is my first skin for vB. It's combination of grays, black, and red. Since there aren't many red-based skins, I decided to make one. This skin was inspired by Mortekai. Screen shots are included in the next posts.

Install Instructions
-----------------------

All directions for installing this skin are included in the readme file.

-Be sure to read the README_INSTALL file or the skin won't appear properly!
-Fonts & PSD files are included to customize your header.

LoL, of course they dont! That's why I chose those colors for the sig, time, etc. So they stand out and can be seen easily. If I make the borders, links, category backgrounds, or buttons green, then yeah you could say that i 'mixed it' into the theme. You always need a color to stick out in a color theme, and green is it. It's like this post screen i'm typing in right now. Take a look a the button 'Close Current Tag' and 'Close All Tags' buttons. The 'X' is red. Same theory.

Yeah I agree with you, I like to have important things on my boards stick out, i.e. the time...

i got a small problem with it, somehow it mixed up my forum.

some links ask for members.php, while another asks for a members.php3

Is there an easy way of correcting this besides having both files?

Just do a search/replace. Search for the filename you don't have, and replace it with the one that you do.

IE: Search for members.php3 and replace with members.php
This should fix any problems. :D (The search tool is at the very bottom of the vB Admin CP menu)

Uhhh.... You DO know that you did it backwards, don't you? Your forums are running PHP3. Therefore, you should replace all PHP links with PHP3 links.

Search for: index.php register.php announcement.php attachment.php avatar.php calendar.php editpost.php forumdisplay.php global.php member2.php member.php memberlist.php misc.php moderator.php newreply.php newthread.php online.php poll.php postings.php printthread.php private2.php private.php report.php search.php sendtofriend.php showgroups.php showthread.php threadrate.php usercp.phpAnd replace with their filename, but "php3" instead of just "php". You have to make sure that you run PHP3 files though. If you run PHP instead of PHP3, reverse the instructions. (Search for *.php3 and replace with *.php)

I'm hoping you read the install file. The reason you got the MySQL error was because you didn't run the MySQL query like instructed in the ReadMe_Install file. But i'm glad you got it fixed. This is just for future reference for other people who might have the same problem.

Your style requires a MySQL query? Ok, now you've got me curious. I'm downloading it!

Oh... I see now. You included a hack with it, and put in instructions on how to make the hack work. Good job, most people leave the instructions out. :D

Point 5 in the readme file:

5. Run this query through phpMyAdmin:

ALTER TABLE forum ADD lastthreadtitle VARCHAR(255) NOT NULL AFTER lastposter

You must do this if you want to display the
Last poster/post in your Forum Home properly!!

Thanks, this is a great skin, and although not my default skin, it is a users choice on my forum at Boogle.org.uk (http://www.boogle.org.uk)

Great Work !!

LoL thanks...originally I thought about having a vampire/horror type of logo or something to that effect. I was also trying to have more of a bloody look, but I changed my mind because I thought that would drive a few people away from this Style. I didn't want to specifically make this Style for just one type of board.
