The forums are upgraded from phpbb to vb2 to vb3. :) Anyway, they are officially temporarily down to the general public until our site design and such is done. But I have done MUCH work to the templates...and will of course not rest until I die.

Please take a gander and tell me what you think. I am trying to go for a more professional and tidy look. Not flashy and hobbyish.

I'm not too fond with the header. It just seems a bit plain, and too big for the forum.

Otherwise, it looks nice. :)

If I trimmed some off the top of the header would it be better in your opinion? Or just shrank the CENTERED part altogether?

Thanks for checking it out and sharing your opinion.

I don't really care much for the color scheme, and the header is kind of O_O. But i love the way you did the forum navigation and login, that looks uber sexy IMO.

Keep working on it and it will be an excellent skin. (love your smilies btw :))

Thank you. Yeah...the tings I definately like about the design is the navigation, the footer (basic I know, but I like it) the categories on forum home. The colors I am happy with, but not in love with.

The trouble is...I need to make the whole design look professional. vbulletin looks very hobbyish in my opinion by default. If it bears any resemblance to ubb, it's only because their design looks much more professional to me. But vb of course is far superior (in case anyone would retort to just use UBB).
And all these comments about the header. Is it just boring? Or what?

I'm glad to hear criticism, and you can even tell me it sucks. But it helps alot to be a little more descriptive about what doesn't work in your opinions about the header.

Thanks for checking it out and commenting. (And I'm glad you like the smilies)

Well, for first, to improve the header, you could try removing the Break right after it, I think that the header and the -> $bbtitle would look much better without the space in between. As for the header look itself.. I dunno, just doesn't favor my eyes much.

http://forums.hotscripts.com/ has an excellent professional design on their forums, and i'm sure there are plenty more out there that would be beneficial to see for ideas. :X

Hotscripts looks like trash if you ask me. But thanks for your opinions.

BTW, when logged in, nav looks like this (see attachment)

Sorry to bother you guys again, but I am curious if the new header is any better. Could someone who saw it before please let me know if I am at least going in the right direction? :)

Thanks.

I like the way you've done it. However, the forum is for a band? why don't you feature the band in the header? I like the gradient cloud thing on the right though. Intriguing

The header is better this time, alot smaller and looks better.

Thanks for the comments guys.
And yes, I will probably have some pics of the band in the header, but I still need to work on that. My basic idea is to make the forums layout, then fine-tune the graphics. So I'm still working on the layout... But thanks for the feedback.

More pictures in the header would really make a difference, especially since the banner now seems a little plain.

I'll have more images throughout the site and possibly the forums themselves. I'm still working on the overall layout though.

In the forumdisplay and the threaddisplay I customised some more templates, and I was wondering what yall thought of em. Where the reply/new thread buttons are etc. Here is a quicky link to check what I mean. http://www.centeredmusic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15
