very plain, in my opinion. no offence... i read the thread by someone else requesting a livelier color scheme as well. i don't have anything against greys and i can clearly see the sexual innuendo (shades of grey), but still... i think it would benefit from brighter colors that are more alive and stir up emotion in people. also, original buttons would be a plus. i mean, considering the topic, you should be able to have a blast with making original buttons.

dog is right, not much has been done. just changed a few colors in the admin cp and downloaded a button set. i'm guessing less than 15 minutes for the entire thing right?

if that's what you were aiming for, then cool. but it doesn't offer anything to 'review' though... know what i mean?

Extremely slow loading - at the time there were 3 online, including me. The splash page took 5 seconds via cable modem, and the forum page took about 30. :( As a reference I shoot for 4-5 seconds for a dialup user. We just about hit that now, though we are admittedly small for having a dedicated server.

I'd suggest a dedi server or a shared server w/ less traffic - I'd imagine the content will get people in there, but you're walking a tightrope with those download times. In fact, too slow for me to bother looking at any individual forums.... sorry. :(

Don't know what to tell you - I have a cable modem, and it took far, far too long to load a page.

It's going a bit slower now, but it's not incredibly slow. I'm on 56k right now, so weird to me.

Just this moment loaded the splash page and it took 36 seconds on a cable modem....

25 seconds to get to the forum index page....

21 seconds to general chit chat, error message - cannot find server....

Refreshed, 22 seconds later same outcome....

Hit 'back' button...42 seconds later found the IP, but then lost it again - cannot find server..... Hit refresh to try to reload...22 seconds later same outcome.

...gave up....

Well since you want no one under 17 allowed on the site, then you should make it not viewable to guests. Also, 17 is still underage, you should really make it 18 :D

Clearly depends what country you're in, but yeah 18 would be the ideal age IMO.

Well, he said no pornography is allowed, so why make it 18? As for the forums, they are pretty default-ish. Add some hacks. Customize it a bit.

For the reason of Adult Themes.

You don't see a movie which is lets say PG and it has sexual themes but no pornography. It's the same thing. Then It'd go up to Sex Scenes and Nudity.

Works the same for a forum.

But you see PG-13 movies with sexual themes, and pornography. Quite a few of them.

I'll name one...Titanic. And it depends what you consider pornography. I mean in PG-13 movies they never show the whole body, usually only the top. So if that's what your saying, then I agree with you.

Hey guys, weird i set my post for notification, never received anything so never came back :(

Anyways, it was 13 but i strongly decided not to do that and bumped it to 17, same as R movies (I might change it at a later date)

The site is loaded on a shared server of only 3 people hosted by BURST.NET, they have been having serious problems with their network, not sure why.

I have added two hacks, but the reason why i decided against adding many hacks and a ton of template mods is because, it is simply a pain in the butt to upgrade, my other site, www.nerdnations.com/bbs is customized to a small point, and upgrading is a pain.

As for the grey tone, i thought it would fit the conversation of a sexual nature, which sex is usually placed in a dark room, but not always.

I have not looked into more themes, as of yet, because i am still trying to get the website up and running at first, i might later add a new style set, not sure as of yet.

I am still looking for mature members, because the members are a little, well not mature... I do not want this forum to turn into some sleaze bag website that gets blocked by all filters, i want it to be more of a chat for problems and information.

As of yet, google has not entered out URL into the database, so members have only come from the places i advertised at, hopefully when google enters us into their database i should get a load of new members.

But, I do think you may need to do a bit more to enforce that your members are over the age limit.

If i find out anyone is under the age of 17 i will do a ban of their name, ip and email address, simple as that.

Pornography and a love scene have alot of differences. Thats no-where considered as pornography. Heaps of movies have love scenes but Titanic never had anything over mild.

Oddly enough I'm not sure I agree with that second bit. Young people often have the most questions about sexuality.
