View Full Version : VB License Integration Glitch

Wasn't sure if this belonged here or in VB 3 glitch forum. But since this was basically a forum addon I chose here so if it's in the wrong forum I apologize to the mods.
After the upgrade to VB 3.0 Beta 2 the License Integration Script was installed which verifies emails. Most people did it with ease. However I found that myself was having extremely bad problems under the "TheMayhem" username and asked filburt at Vb.org and he suggested just resubmitting the form at Vbulletin.com where you enter the 3 email addresses. After a few hours of attempts and resubmitting, changing emails, ect. I came to the conclusion that it just wasn't going to work for me under the username I was doing. Then I noticed a few other people saying they were experiance similar problems.
So about an hour ago I decided to log out of my username and change my email address. Then to reregister using the email address I was trying to use for my TheMayhem username. I reregistered and then verified my account. Then I went to vb.com where my email was already in place on what it was supposed to be and resubmitted the form so it'd update the systems. I came back here and suddenly I finally had access.
So with this in mind is it possible that some user accounts could be experiancing some kind of glitch that for some odd reason if they registered before the upgrade and only a handfull of accounts weren't able to verify there accounts resulting from some type of glitch? I sent a small request to Saintdog via pm to notify him. But, I wanted to ask the general posters/mods if anyone else experianced from this problem or if anyone knows if this was just a one time deal that I unfortunitely experianced or if others are in fact experiancing it?

Some people have had trouble licensing their accounts here, but it's from already common problems like not entering the correct e-mail and now knowing it's case sensitive.
As for your TheMayhem account, try getting in contact with vB.com maybe? If none of the problems I've suggested work they might tell you otherwise whats wrong etc. or it could be a glitch like you said. But everything seems stable at the moment. :)

Contacting vBulletin would be your best bet but trying working with the user first, if it does not license up, then revert to the first.

I had the same exact problem. I am sure I did everything correctly, but I had to re-register to see the threads here. I'm sure others are having the same problems.

Can you give a step-by-step way of reproducing the problem? Is it...?
1. Have an account here before license checking took place
2. System integrated
3. Tried to authenticate and couldn't

I tried everything. I realized we had to verify at vb.org, so i made sure my emails matched EXACTLY on both the VB.org verification page (the link you've been giving out). They did. I then thought since I was using a FREE email (hotmail) that maybe that was the prob, so i switched my email at both places, then re-verified from my email that VBT sent to my new email addy I provided.
Still nothing. As soon as I re-registered with that same email, everything popped up as it should have with my old username.
My previous username was 'lordofgun', BTW. :D

You never re-verified your e-mail address (the *@hotmail one). You're in the wrong usergroup as a result.

I certainly did. I don't know why it didn't work, but I did SEVERAL times.

For spite try changing your e-mail address for this account and post when you think you're reactivated it. It might be a vB3 bug.
Sorry but I can only unban users and technically you're not banned but in the wrong usergroup. Only SD can edit users.
I was having the same issue today. The last time I was here (a week or so?) I had access to the forums and was able to post; I even sent Filburt a private message at one point.
Today, when I tried to do anything short of view my profile or read posts in the lounge, I was presented with an access denied page. I reverified my account and email, triple check the address entered at vb.com, and made sure everything was entered in the proper case. Nothing worked.
Not being able to post, I couldn't do anything other than email the vBT staff to ask about the problem. Like others, I didn't receive a reply but that's understandable. These guys probably have a day job too ya know. :)
So anyway, I changed the email address of my account (CrashX) and registered a new account (LDEV) with the same email addres I had used previously. At that point I gained access to everything I had before.
Not sure what caused this or why it happened, but it was definitely strange.

Just for kicks, I have to tell you all that I do not have access to my webmaster account for here at vBulletinTemplates. If you are using the contact us link below, that's probably why you have gotten no response.
I usually answer all e-mails, unless spam, in less than 12 hours; usually in 1-2.

Your CrashX account is also in the e-mail validation usergroup. Just as with vB2 make sure that you check your e-mail after you change it in your user CP!
Your CrashX account is also in the e-mail validation usergroup. Just as with vB2 make sure that you check your e-mail after you change it in your user CP!I did that, several times, and used the validation link in the email. It never worked. It's probably still in the validation usergroup because the last time that I changed the emaill address, so that I could reregister, I never validated that account.
It's not an issue, now that I have this account. And although I would prefer to use my CrashX nick, this one is probably better because it matches my nick at vb.com. Thanks!
