Hi ya guys,

Hope you can help me out with this one. I already searched all forums for an existing post about my request, but couldn't find anything.

What I want to do, is placing poll's on my first page of my forum. My forumhome page. And is it also possible to only let admins post these poll's?

Thanx in advance guys,

NickieNonstop

I might investigate this.

Ahh, they used to have something like this for a UBB 5 hack. It would actually be a nice addition to post main forum polls on the main page. :)

Exactly, I also think this can become a popular modification.
Hope the experts can help us out :D

I doubt it's a template possible modification though...:-/

do you? Hmm....

I don't know much about coding, but isn't it just a placement of some code in the header template or forumhome page template? But then again, i'm not an expert in this.

I could probbly write you a hack quicker. Honestly the phpinclude is a pain to code for, even with PAPI. I may look into a template modification, but i will look into a code hack for you tonight if you dont mind hacking your .php files. Post a request at vB.org and link it to me via pm so i can make sure you are a legit user.

Hello

This is what I do...

1) creat a poll in a forum.

2) Polls are just ordanary forms so view the html code on the page and copy the poll form.

3) Paste the form into your forumhome template wherever you want it to display.

The great thing about doing it this way is that you can play with the look of the poll all you like, put it where you like and do anything you want with it.

This is the way I figured it out but there may be a better way.

NOTE: Plus you can put it in any template you want. You could have a different poll on every single page if you want. Or put it in the header and you got the same poll on every page.

Thanx Toni, but just like Anime-Loo said, I want it to be updated automatically.

Isn't there a possibility that you create a new forum, dedicated to polls. And that when you place a poll in that forum (being an admin), some coding (which I'm requesting for now :p) queries the mysql database for the poll and then places the poll on your forumhome page??

But then again, I don't know anything about coding, so maybe that what I just said is nothing more than crap :p.

Would it be possible to use the Announcement template to do this?
