I know its not a template mod Mist-Why do you think it says [temp] in the title? Temp=Temporary-My intention was that it was going to be somewhere else if this was in the wrong forum:)

Unless you didnt mean that sarcasticly ignore the above statement:)

What this does ZiRu$ is add special vB code to your forum, so that when someone posts a URL link in a post it's changed. Instead of looking like http://www.interpug.com your links will look like [link (http://www.interpug.com)]

I do believe that New URL Display should actually be www, and that you have {param} and {option} reversed. ONce I figured those two errors out, it worked perfectly.

Where is the template vbcode?

mashby
08-09-2002, 12:58 AM
It's not a template. Look in your Admin Control Panel. It's a few items up from where your templates are in the navigation on the left. Look for a section called vB Code. That's where you make this change. :)

Link is replaced with [ Link] ([<a href="www.address.com"> Link</a>])

that is what it says for a main vb code description...still nothing...

What's the link to your forum?

TvNut
09-05-2002, 08:50 PM
well my site is private but when posting a link do i have to type somehing special of do I just post the link like this...

http://www.vbulletintemplates.com/mods/showthread.php?s=&threadid=567&perpage=14&pagenumber=3

turdboy
09-05-2002, 08:51 PM
You have to type something special which is this: Link

Replace URL with the link you want.

TvNut
09-05-2002, 09:30 PM
Ok that works..my next question is there a way to make the vb do it automatically when someone posts a link?

turdboy
09-05-2002, 09:43 PM
If possible that would most likely involve editting the function.php file which we dont do here we only edit templates here.

TvNut
09-05-2002, 10:09 PM
Well I see but why would you want to type all that...If you have vb then u post a new reply and hit the http button above where you are typing and label it then put in ur url like this

go here for mor info (http://www.vbulletintemplates.com/mods/newreply.php?s=&action=newreply&threadid=567)

but you cant use this in quick replys....

TvNut
09-05-2002, 10:40 PM
But you were correct...you have to change the functions.php it was just written and works great...whenever you copy and paste to a link it comes up bold red and says link...dont have to type anything b-4 or after...

very nice

turdboy
09-05-2002, 11:13 PM
Thats the main reason why I use this code because I rarely ever go to the thread reply box instead of quick reply.

assassingod
09-06-2002, 06:55 AM
Very weird, it works for me.:( Ill keep trying

Buddha

not working here either... pretty simple stuff... it's not like i'm entering anything in wrong, it's just a few lines... not like an indepth hack.
it's trying to send me to http://mydomain.com/www.link.com
example: trying to create a link to google, it tries to send me to
http://fulldvdreview.com/www.google.com

i have a question too... why not just use the [url] feature instead?
