View Full Version : News / Contest

I would like to see more news regarding the status of vb.org.
For example:
What's going behind close doors?
What to expect in the next few months?
The Grapevine -- what could be (or not) coming
I would also like to see a new "design" contest to coincide with the release of 3.5. Actually, it should be before the release of 3.5 to give you guys enough time to edit the template/style/etc. However, I would like it to work differently.
The thread and a small image* (400*150 max submitted by designer) should be visible for all to see. I believe this will create more excitement and participation.
* The small image can be a collage of the design -- just a tease but not enough to give the design away.
* The image can be added to post via IMG/URL -- members may not download attachments.
* LOL - The image can also be used to mislead; and, not be the exact design. ;)
It's time for me to show my design skills.
So, I am one that will definately participate in the contest if it becomes a reality. :smoke:

Grapevine:
We're working on merging vB.org and vBT.
We're training our hamsters to understand vBulletin 3.5.
We're thinking of a different system for modifications.
We're kind of stuck on the vb_ninja() function, but iirc Stefan mentioned that he had a solution to that.
All unofficial of course... :)

I have some idea ;)
Erwin will have a nervous breakdown, and Stefan will have a powertrip over his new ninja army, and will instruct them to seek out and destroy all pirate vBulletin owners, all UBB, PhpBB etc board owners, and then start turning on all the annoying members here ;)
But luckily I have about 5 months of powertripping to find somewhere safe to hide from the evil ninjas ;)

Sadly the hamsters aren't learning it quickly enough, we made a few modifications to their diet last week and early results look hopeful ;). Now if we could get them to get along with the new ginnie pigs we could retire and let them do all the work.

1. What's going behind close doors? probably cooking, watching tv, a little bite to eat and some sleeping, oh and sometimes coding too
2. What to expect in the next few months? a few hack of the month contests, some hacks getting released, and 5 new threads to ask when vBT's being merged in.
3. The Grapevine -- what could be (or not) coming don't let certain members see you mention the word 'coming' they'll add you to their ignore list and/or complain about you
RE: "I would also like to see a new "design" contest to coincide with the release of 3.5. Actually, it should be before the release of 3.5 to give you guys enough time to edit the template/style/etc. However, I would like it to work differently." a dark style :D

what was vb_ninja()?It's a myth like the unicorn, i've never seen one only read about them, they have magical powers, if you can catch and tame one all your vb worries are over:rolleyes:

Now that Princeton is in charge we would like to know
What's going behind close doors? (In vb.org staff forums and regarding vB5)
What to expect in the next few months?
The Grapevine -- what could be (or not) coming. (on vb.org and vb5) We would also like to see vB.org start style design contests. :)
