Fatal error: Cannot redeclare sendpm() (previously declared in /usr/home/*/public_html/forum/quiz.php:139) in /usr/home/*/public_html/forum/includes/functions_warning.php on line 23

i am using vb 3,5,2 boardi. can this error be bcs of that ?

What is a CHMOD, and where is 0777?

Hi

Its the files that its mentioning that you have uploaded to your ftp
You need to change the attributes to 0777

I can only tell you how to do this if your using Flash FXP as this is the only one i know...

I would have thought you just right click on the file and choose attributes (this is how with flashfxp and should be simular with yours) and then go from there..

Hope this helps a little

ok, i can access the properties by right clicking the file, and choosing "get info" in Fetch, the MAc FTP program.

So to clarify, I am setting the entire includes folder to have write permisions for all users? isnt that a security risk?

I love the hack! I would really like to see an addition to it -- an extra field called "Explanation". In this field you could explain the correct answer and show it at the end of the quiz. I can probably code this myself, but since you are more familiar with your hack you may be able to do it in no time.

Let me know..... and thanks again!! :)

I managed to edit the code for the extra field.

If a hack works on one skin and not the other, it stands to reason that the custom templates for the hack have not been installed on all of the styles - namely, the skins where it doesn't show up.

I am not sure if anyone did enquire about this... I was looking through the pages n couldn't find anything realted.

My forum is in domain.com/forums/

The problem is that..it works really cool but the image uploaded is been pointed to domain.com/images/quiz/ instead of domain.com/forums/images/quiz/

Is there any fix for these? I will have a thorough look through the pages to see if anyone else reported this.

thanx in advance.

Richie, it comes with some quizzes and there are more attached to the two threads about this mod - the one in the 3.0 forum and this thread. Please read the support thread about a modification before you post a question. It cuts down on duplicate questions and keeps thread sizes more manageable.

Hi,

I need a hack where users can submit detailed answers to the quiz.
What I believe we can modify this in such a way once question comes over then user should get vbulletin editor to submit his response.
After the test his responses should be submitted to one Moderator who is set to receive responses for the quiz.
Can anybody help me with this modification..

glorify
02-15-2006, 01:14 PM
OK, I have looked all over this thread found the responses and the fix and I still had the same prob.

Running 3.5.0

A member got this error:
Fatal error: Unable to proceed with save while $errors array is not empty in class vb_datamanager_pm in /includes/class_dm.php on line 758

This was from a shorter quiz and others didn't get the same error

Went into my PM settings and Maximum characters was already set to 0 (which was stated to be the fix)

Figured out that his usergroup wasn't allowed to receive PM's and that was the problem.

Any way of checking to ensure PM permissions before automatically sending one upon completion of a quiz?

Since the AWS hack was actually based off of the original Inferno warning hack, it has some conflicts with some Inferno hacks. We asked the maker of the AWS to update it, since it would mean us having to update and redistribute to literally thousands of users, which isnt really possible, but he refused. meantime if you change sendpm in all isntances to something else in the AWS file, it should work ok.

This is a great idea and looks pretty good. Many thanks!

I'm finding myself frustrated, though, because I can't figure out how to show results upon completion of the quiz. Seems like this should be standard, rather than having results sent to the PM inbox. Which I personally find kinda annoying! Not to mention that an error message is generated if a quiz-taker has turned off PMs. (It's the same error that occurs if inboxes are full.)

I tried commenting out the PM section of quiz.php, but all that does is stop the sending of PMs ... it doesn't make the results appear on the quiz page itself. Wish I wasn't hopelessly ignorant when it comes to coding!

vBQuiz 1.0 and vBstory are the two hacks I miss most from vB2!

You need to create a new template that shows the results. Then, you need to comment out the send pm part and replace it with a call to send users to your newly created report page. You can see it working on my site - no registrations are required to take quizzes at EA.

I've read the thread and can't see an answer to this, though others have asked it.

What is the correct procedure, where you have the quiz installed on 3.0 and are going to upgrade to 3.5? Do you need to uninstall the quiz first and then reinstall after the upgrade? Or can the same database be used, thus preserving scores etc?

The scores and such can be preserved, Mark. Just leave it there, upgrade your site, then upgrade the quiz mod.

Cool Hack. Really great.

One thing I find that lets this down is thet the Overall Leaderboard shows each members results for different quiz seperately. For example...

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/5264/test4xa.gif

This must be so simple to do. Its basically adding up all of the quizzes the user has done, and dividing it by the number of quizzes they have done.

In this case, "Jordan" had taken 2 quizzes and achieved 90% and 50%. The average of this is 70%. Simple!

This would be pretty simple to do. Also, could the leaderboard then be ordered by Number of quizzes taken. Such as this....

http://img112.imageshack.us/img112/1796/test23cq.gif

With Line breaks in between the number of quizzes. This would keep the people who have got an overall better score over a larger span of quizzes, high in the leaderboard.

I know this can be done, easily. Sadly I don't have the knowledge or I'd be doing it right now.

Anyone care to have a go at this?

I have one question. I want to have sponsored quizes, with prizes. And I want, in each quiz, to show up, the sponsor.

I tried this condition:
<if condition="$qid == X"> but it doesn't work.
Can anyone knows how to do this? Thanks

I had another idea too, putting the sponsor ad between questions, let's say after the 3rd question in a certain quiz. So when I'll figure out the quiz ID condition I will have to figure out the question number condtion too, so if anyone knows that too please help me :D
thanks

This has been suggested already but maybe another request for it would help.

It would be cool if there could be an optional second field for the answer so we could add some history or explanation of the answer.

Here is an example.

Which of these?
1. This one
2. This one
3. This one
4. That one

Real Answer = That one

Now after the question is answered (right or wrong ) you would see

Blah blah blah about That one.............................

any news about how to select a certain quiz in the templates?
I want, for a certain quiz, to insert a banner, I managed to do this for all quizes but I need only for certain ones and I cannot find the selection tag, as I wrote above qid isn't working.

Anyone?
Please....

If it were only that easy. There's only 24 hours in each day, and we only get 4 hours of sleep from that. We're already 2 months behind in three projects. Sometimes it's more than just a matter of reading something from a website like Webmonkey :(

OK, I've been reading this thread for the past 5 hours now, been over it several times while I've been working on the quiz.

I think the original quiz was done brilliantly, it's just a shame that it hasn't been updated in so long. Most of the comments here are from people who couldn't get it to work because of some simple error that could be easily fixed.
Most of the suggestions here actually sounded like really good ideas, so I'm currently working on getting some of them up and running.

I've used:
The 'product-infernoquiz.xml' file posted by mtha (Post #212)
The template changes suggested by y2krazy (Post #114)
as the basis of my changes. I've also used many of the comments to fix the bugs (apart from those caused by 'user error').

I stress that I'm only doing this for myself, I'm adding features I think I may use or my members might find useful. But I figure it would be unfair not to share all that with everyone else here, I may even get someone inspired to continue working on it.

New Features I am working on

* I've already added a 'True/False' question type which works perfectly.

* Send a PM to admin when a new Quiz is submitted, already working. It shows the name of the quiz, the description, the image and contains a direct link to the Moderate Quiz Submissions page in AdminCP. This should also have 2 settings:
1) Send a PM to admin when new Quiz is submitted (On or Off)
2) Username(s) to receive notification? (may or may not do this)

* Control over how the questions are ordered (thanks Bubble #5 for this idea!)
When you create a quiz, I'm going to try to add a select box to choose how the questions should be ordered:
-First->Last (Currently forced to this)
-Last->First (Should be easy enough)
-Random/Shuffled (To make cheating harder)

* When creating a quiz, allow/disallow users from taking the test more than once.

* Control over how scores are kept, a setting in AdminCP
-Percentage (eg 10 questions, 5 correct, 50% score)
-Points (eg 14 questions, 8 correct, 8 point score)
This has to be sitewide, rather than per-quiz, to ensure the Overall Leaderboard works correctly.

* Explanation of Answer option for each question, an optional textbox that allows the Quiz author to elaborate on the answer and explain why it is correct. I will try my best on this, but it doesn't sound terribly complex.

* Who is Online page should display that the user is on the Quiz section, rather than just 'Unknown Location' as it currently does.

* Maximum Question Length setting, currently locked to 100 characters but should be a user-defined setting.

* A vBulletin Options settings page for this quiz, because I see quite a few settings being required.

Here are some screenshots of how it's turned out so far, the layout itself is all thanks to y2krazy, but you can see some of the features I've added.

Creating true/false question

I guess the ultimate goal here is to add all these features, get it working and stable, and make sure the installation is as simple as:
1) Upload files
2) CHMOD images folder (nothing else)
3) Import Product
4) Configure
5) Add link to navbar

I'm working on a local server, my changes are still fairly unstable, and there's a lot to go, but I need this thing working properly before I unleash it on my 10,000 or so forum members, so I will try to post as I work on it.

Agreed. Not sure exactly how I'm going to post this. I'm thinking of just attaching the files to this thread, unless you think the changes will warrant setting up a new thread?
I guess it might need a new thread. Keeping track of bugs might be easier that way. It also would mean we can confirm it works with 3.5.4 and list it that way. Bubble #5 suggested I try to get it working with 3.6.x, which I might do when it's finished. It would only save time later on when we have to upgrade to the new version.

At the moment I'm just trying to clean up all the code. I've made some SQL and template changes, including:
-Renaming the db tables to infernoquiz_* (eg vb_infernoquiz_submissions)
-Renaming the templates to infernoquiz_* (eg infernoquiz_leaderboard_end)
-Grouped the templates under "Inferno Quiz Templates", for neatness
I was finding it very hard to work with the other way:
Custom Templates
-QUIZ
-quiz_cat_end
-quiz_cat_row
etc...

Now it looks like this:
49538

And I always prefer to keep the name of the product in the db tables. The actual table structure is the same as before, and I'm hoping too many changes won't be required.

I only have 3.5.x, but when I've got it all working I'll download 3.6.x and try it out on that.

So hopefully both :)

By the way, installation AND uninstallation of the product work perfectly now. That was hard work :p

Also, the Who is Online page used to be:
Unknown Location
/forum/quiz.php

Now it is:
Browsing Quizzes
Inferno Quiz

Any suggestions on how to word that better? Browsing is the only word I could think of that covers just about anything you can do in the quiz section.

Well you could try "Viewing Quizzes" since most of the vBulletin system refer as "viewing". ;)

Well hopefully not too far away. It's a lot of work, but it will be done when it's done :)

I've just added the setting for disabling Private Messaging of the results. So now it just displays the results on the page instead of sending them via PM.

Also, if a quiz author says they will let people take the quiz more than once, it will only save the results if the score is higher than the previous time, or if they haven't taken the quiz yet.

And you can control how big the questions can be too, the default is 100 characters. I guess the downside is that you'll have to paste a long question in a single line text box, rather than a multi-line textarea. Should be ok for 90% of people, only a problem for people who allow full paragraph questions :p

Another screenshot.
This is the results screen after you complete a quiz.

49581

And this is the NEW Inferno Quiz Settings page that I've added.
I don't like the idea of the script modifying a settings.inc.php file (hence the need to CHMOD that folder).

49582

It's coming along nicely.

bbcentral

One more screenshot, of the PM received upon completing a quiz (if enabled in AdminCP)

49583

Also, it's looking like it will just be too much work to give a choice between Points and Percentage. I may try another time, but it probably won't be an option when I first release this. The percentage code is buried all the way through the system. I would have to completely rewrite all this to switch it over to Points, and if Percentage is enabled then it just calculates:
(Number of Points / Number of Questions) * 100
to give you the percentage. Trying to turn a percentage back into points is a headache (and bad programming), especially for questions that have multiple answers.

Also there's some neat 'cheat protection' built in, which I've managed to improve upon (it wasn't scoring properly)

Question: What words contain the letter 'A':
1) Hello
2) Water
3) Night
4) Mechanic
5) Award
6) Juice

So you can see that 3 of those answers are correct. To get 100% you need to choose those 3 answers, and ONLY those 3.

Answers:

1) Hello
2) Water
3) Night
1/3 gives you 33%

2) Water
4) Mechanic
6) Juice
2/3 gives you 66%

2) Water
4) Mechanic
5) Award
3/3 gives you 100%

2) Water
4) Mechanic
5) Award
6) Juice
3/3 gives you 100%, but you choose 1 too many answers, so you get 66%

1) Hello
2) Water
4) Mechanic
5) Award
6) Juice
3/3 gives you 100%, but you choose 2 too many answers, so you get 33%

1) Hello
2) Water
3) Night
4) Mechanic
5) Award
6) Juice
3/3 gives you 100%, but you choose 3 too many answers, so you get 0%

This should handle every possible combination :)

bbcentral, if it's going to use this code, you cannot start a new thread with your release without the original author's permission.

OK, cool, thanks for the info :)

I think now I just have to get the admin panel working properly to handle the new field, and also fix some of the bugs. I keep getting an 'invalid date' error when I allow a submitted quiz, something to do with the unix timestamps being used.

Not sure of the best way to handle the image uploads, I think for now the administrator can just save and resize uploaded quiz images themselves, if they are too big.

Might have a zip file for people to try out sometime soon.
I'd also like to remove the need for legacy functions in this. I know ZT was planning to do it (his comment says he'll get to it eventually), but I might as well have a go at it.

Looking good bbcentral :) Here are a few new ideas for features that you could add very simply. One is a space reserved at the top of the quiz which contains the quiz instructions, and any limitations (such as a time limitation). A simple radio button or check box could turn this feature on/off. An image could also optionally be posted in this area. (see screenshot below).

Also finishing actions, which will tell the quiz what to do (or where to send the quiz taker) if the quiz has been passed or failed. It would either close the quiz normally or send the quiz taker to another URL (page) which the admin could then pre-make and customize to fit their forum. (see screenshot below).

Wouldn't it make more sense (and be MUCH easier) to just post the question in a survey and see who answered what later? Or just post the bet in simple text form but don't request an answer, and then afterward (when you know the answer) re-ask in a text form or multiple choice form?

All interesting ideas.
I think the quiz instructions field is something I definitely want, although I wonder what the point of the checkbox is. If you don't want quiz instructions, leave the box blank and I'll make sure the code doesn't try to display anything.
The pass/fail thing is just too much work for me. I'll have a look but I really doubt I can do something like that in the limited time I have. Pretty much anything that involves the results/score is complicated, and I've found it hard to work with.

craiovaforum, you just described a completely different product which I have absolutely no use for :)

I'm taking some time to work on other parts of my site, as well as the 3 other projects I have going. I figure I'll let things sit here for a little while, see what people suggest, get some feedback, before I get stuck into coding this again. Adding a new field is quite a messy process, I'd like to have a complete list of what's needed before adding them again, rather than doing them as they are suggested.

Exactly what I'm thinking craiovaforum, this would be an awesome modification to allow the quiz hack to be used as a tipping engine for sports matches, and I've got it working for me.. though kind of dodgily I'll happily admit.

Here's the changes I've made to facilitate this:
- disabled the PM's upon quiz completion (via commenting out the PM sections of /admincp/admin_quiz.php and /quiz.php)
- modified the 'quiz_thanks' template from 'Thank you for taking the quiz, your results have been PM'ed to you, check your Inbox to see them.' to 'Thank you for submitting your tips. Results will be posted next week.'
- Created a quiz, but left the 'correct answer' blank for each question
- The quiz is set to close the day before game day

- allow the users to take the quiz.. questions such as 'pick the result: wallabies, draw, all blecks' and 'who will score first try? Tuqiri, Latham, any other Wallaby'

- after the game I then 'Control Quiz Questions' and edit each question to input the now correct answer

- I then need to 'Moderate Quiz Results' and click 'Edit' followed by 'Update' for each user. It would be really nice if there were a query I could run that does a bulk update of all results.. but this is working for now.

- Finally I check all users who have 0% as I could have missed them.

Hope this helps,

MSC, it can be done, but it took a lot of modifications. Mine is set up so users can test their quizzes before they submit them, and edit quizzes in progress to make corrections. Once they are submitted, they can no longer edit. I've also got mine set up to track the quiz authors.

My stuff is too tightly coded to my own forum to release it, but it's really not hard to do and can be done bit by bit as you have time.

Excellent hack, I was just wondering if there was anyway to disable members receiving PM's when they answer questions? As even though I've part answer enabled, for answers where i've got two names like 'Meredith and Derek' if the user writes 'Derek and Meredith' it will not count it.

Thanks Amy, your quiz is exactly what I was looking for. I'm trying to get my head around the PHP now but I think it might be beyond me.

Could you give me any hints as to which files I need to edit?

Cheers,

All 3 of the quiz files. Just tackle small pieces at a time. As you do it, you'll learn a heck of a lot. Zero's code is easy to work with because it's readable.

I installed v2.2 fresh onto 3.6.0. I'm not familiar with Inferno yet, but most appears OK. I can't figure out how to add categories, but that is probably my own lack of experience.

I added a new quiz, but it isn't showing up in the Admin list. Is that because V2.2 isn't compatible with 3.6.0 yet?

This looks very promising. Thanks.

Since installing vb 3.6 I cannot close or delete a quiz through the ACP. When I try to do either I get the following text come up:

And ideas on how I can correct this?

Many thanks

I would love to have guests to be able to use this feature too. Any idea? Is there any way to set it manualy?

I have a problem with multimple choices questions and I cannot figure it out: sometimes it doesn't add all the correct answers, for example, if someone checks 2 out of 3 correct answers and 1 wrong, sometimes it adds 33% and sometimes 67%... I tried it myself with test accounts and for absolutely no reason, sometimes calculates only 1 answer as correct and sometmes 2...

Did someone had this problem before and soved it?

That's what the time limit on taking a quiz is for. Set it at 2 minutes and they don't have enough time to look up all the answers. ;)

Right now it let's them goto the quiz screen, see what the questions are, then close their browser and look up the answers or whatever, then come back and take the quiz. Is there a way around this?

I haven't fixed it yet, to be honest. My quiz creation system is very different from the default. I create quizzes, not through the admincp, but through a refined front end that allows users to test their quizzes and edit if necessary before submitting for approval. It's streamlined to be more efficient for me; so I use that interface and approve my own quizzes. So, no hash mismatch errors to fix.

I added this line:

echo '<input type="hidden" name="adminhash" value="' . ADMINHASH . '" />';

right under line 846, this line:

echo "<input type='hidden' name='fast_mod' />";

in admin_quiz.php and now it sort of works, except instead of allowing me to deactivate/activate/delete quizes it only deletes.

Edit: I tried commenting out the piece of code in global.php that checks for Admin Mismatch and then commenting out the line I added but it still only deletes quizes. This is (from what I could see) the related code. Any ideas?

Lines 824 to 863 (in the original, unedited file):

<script type='text/javascript'>
<!--
function doFastMod(){
if(confirm('Are you sure you want to do this?')){
document.forms['cpform'].getElementsByTagName('input')[0].value = 'quiz_fast_mod'
document.forms['cpform'].getElementsByTagName('input')[1].value = document.getElementById('fm').options[document.getElementById('fm').options.selectedInde x].value
document.forms['cpform'].submit(true)
} else {
return false
}
}
-->
</script>

Lines 918 to 963 (in the original, unedited file):

print_cells_row(array(
"",
"<b>Option</b>",
),'thead','','',1);

$fastmod[] = array('open','Set State To Open');
$fastmod[] = array('close','Set State To Closed');
$fastmod[] = array('delete','Delete');

$Display = '<input type="button" class="button" tabindex="1" value="Execute Action" accesskey="s" onclick="doFastMod();" />';

Print_My_DDM('With the selected quiz\'s...','fast_mod',$fastmod,-1,'fm');
print_description_row($Display, 0, 2, 'tfoot','center');

print_table_footer();

print_cp_footer();
exit;
}

// ###################### Quiz Quick Moderation ########################
if ($_POST['do'] == "quiz_fast_mod") {

globalize($_POST,
array(

if(!is_array($fastmod)){

Dear Amy,

I'm simply in love with how you re-designed the look of your quiz page. It's easy to look at, user-friendly, and well-organized. I'd love to set my quiz page in a manner than reflects yours, but unfortunately I'm not as adept in code modification as you are apparently.

Is it possible you can share your style or provide the option of another one as visually effective without looking like yours 100%?

Morrus

Very nice hack! Working fine on my board.

A couple of suggestions for future versions (blatantly stolen from OKCupid!):

1) Some kind of results system, defined by the quiz creator. For example, if you score is under 10% it tells you you're X, if from 11%-30%, you're Y, from 31%-60%, you're Z, etc. Each results category would need a title, some text and (optionally) an image, so you'd end up with something like this: "Congratulations! you scored 94% in the Quantum Physics quiz! You are a master scientist!"; or "You only identified 7% of the TV theme songs - well done! That means you're no couch potato!"

2) Increase functionaility to include the "What X Are You?" type of quiz (for example, "What animal are you?" or "What TV action hero are you"?). This means that the quiz needs to track more than one attribute, with various questions being assigned to each attribute. Quiz creators should be able to define a number of attributes (catness, dogness, elephantness, etc) and for each question they add, the need to specify which attribute that question gives a point in.

If done elgantly, and combined with the results page (suggestion 1, above), the quiz could easily handle quite complex personality test, political tests and so forth.

It wasn't an independent file fix; he updated the whole hack to resolve the problem, so if you don't have the pre-fix version for 3.0, then you won't have a point of reference, unless you want to compare the fixed 3.0 version with this buggy 3.5 version.

Anyway, here's where Zero said he fixed it: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=658972&postcount=229

Okay, might have found the issue. Compare 2.1 to 2.2:

2.1 (the fixed version for 3.0) has this line and it refers to the quote thing:

$Quest['q_question'] = parse_bbcode2(str_replace('&quot;','"',$Quest['q_question']), 0, 0, 0, 1);

2.2 (our buggy version) doesn't however:

$Quest['q_question'] = $bbcode_parser->parse(unhtmlspecialchars($Quest['q_question']));

They're both on the same line of their respected files. But there are other differences in that line as you can see, and I don't know what it will do to the hack in general if I make a direct copy/paste (I'm at work, so I can't do a backup). Can an expert coder provide some input?

I'm not an expert coder, however I am *fairly* certain that change is simply to do with the different way 3.5 and 3.6 parse BBcode compared to 3.0.

I am sure that isn't the fix. I wouldn't try swapping it out, at best bbcode won't work in the quiz, at worst I suspect you'll get a functions error.

I have to say, I started off with the 3.0 version of the quiz which I installed back in February of this year, and the apostrophe bug was present then. So if he said he'd fixed it before then, he hadn't.

my code is so totally different that I can't begin to tell you what line or even what function to look for. But, to fix your apostrophe problems, all you have to do is use trim and addslashes on any text input that's going to be put in the database. Find where the quiz name or title variable is. Before it goes into the database, do something like this (appropriate variables of course) $title = $trim(addslashesa($title));
Do the same thing for the questions, descriptions and the options - ANY text that's going to be inserted in the database.

One option that would be really great would be if each quiz question opened in a new screen -- just like in certification tests and most trivia games.

Right now, I have a quiz with 57 questions (http://www.tech-faq.com/forum/quiz.php?do=Take&id=1) that just intimidates most visitors.

Also, the software prevents users from taking the quiz more than once. With certification quizzes -- my users want to take them again and again.

Hi,

There’s a problem on my site, where when you answer the questions and click on “Submit” it sends you to this error page:

Fatal error:
• The text that you have entered is too long (12182 characters). Please shorten it to 5000 characters long.
Unable to proceed with save while $errors array is not empty in class vB_DataManager_PM in /includes/class_dm.php on line 763 ”

Is this to do with how long the questions/answers are? Help would be appreciated with this.

Pete:

I had the same problem and resolved it by raising the "Maximum Characters Per Private Message" option in vBulletin Private Messaging Options to 15,000 characters.

Search quiz.php for $vboptions and replace it with $vbulletin->options

Paul:

When you do that, this error starts appearing in your Apache log files:

[Mon Dec 25 20:20:41 2006] [error] [client 64.233.178.136] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR, expecting ',' or ';' in /usr/local/www/data/tech-faq.com/forum/quiz.php on line 164

Line 164 is:
global $templatecache, $db, $vbulletin->options, $style,$headinclude,$footer;

For those who use this great hack and have trouble with the images. It looks like ZT has forgotten to fix a holdover from an earlier version in the quiz.php.

Just look for $vboptions[bburl] in the quiz.php and Replace with $vbulletin->options['bburl']

Voil?

Cheers

For those of you that can't find the correction for the image issues, here is the post that solved those issues; at least for me. I believe it was only two instances of the $vboptions that have to be replaced as instructed above to fix things right up. Easy enough.

And some of you have had reported issues with uploading some of the .xml files that have quizzes people have already submitted in this thread. I looked up the particular error I was getting using some of these and from what I can tell, you simply can't use the following three characters when creating questions. (Not sure if this applies to answers as well or not.) But don't use &, <, > when creating questions.

& (ampersand, must be encoded as &amp;)
< (left angle bracket, must be encoded as &lt;)
> (right angle bracket, must be encoded as &gt;)

[b]Thanks to EduPerl over at Microsoft's MSDN forums for the information.

I would like to attach the quiz I made with all 50 U.S. capitals here, but I'm currently having issues getting it to allow me to download the .xml file once it has created it. It simply wants me to continue to log in over and over into the admin panel. I'll see if I can solve my own problem and edit this post later to include the quiz.

OK, found the answer to that problem in the thread as well. Amazing what one can accomplish with a little elbow grease. :D

Thanks again to everyone that has contributed to this wonderful mod. I truly hope ZeroT can find his way back and created an updated version of this mod. My forum members love this.

Thanks man! I had implemented this fix incorrectly and was very confused. :o

Can someone leave a functioning version for 3.6.4 to me?

Thank you

Ah, the one in the global - that one could just be removed.

Ok, I get that global error thing when trying to import a quiz. I have two questions though.

1. By removing this global, does it make it so that I can't import quizzes? (Not that I'll really be doing it that much anyway, but meh.)

2. What line(s) of code do I need to remove to remove the global?

I am running vBulletin v3.6.4 and Inferno Quiz v2.1.

Thanks in advance.

Just what I was looking for as an addition to my puzzle site. Easy installation, even for a nube such as I.

Set it up as a word quiz, which I will update monthly. Just four short questions now. Left settings set for registration required to take quiz. Would be interested in knowing if other boards have changed this to allow guests.

Thanks. (clicks installed)

Unregistered/Guest access?

I have installed this mod, and is working just fine on 3.6.4; One question though even if I set user access to Unregistered, when an unregistered tries to take a quiz - it still requests him to register on the site.

Anyone know how to make this work for unregistered/guests on your site?

Thanks in advance-

Hi!
I have in the test more than 190 questions (for japanese lessons).
All of them are displayed on one page.
How it is possible to share this page on some?
That on one page it was displayed on 10 questions?

Whether it is possible to make so that as a question the picture served?
When I try to use a picture as a question - the code is displayed only.

This is an excellent add-on, and i know these questions have been asked a few times, but can someone guide me on them please?

Can the Leaderboard be re-set? & can it be displayed as an overall standing in all quizzes? i.e. your ranked say 5th in all of the quizzes with 80% instead of displaying it for every quiz seperatley.

Thanks for any assistance in this

This quiz module is very very good. :) installed.

Is there any possibilities to mimic the quiz module of moodle.org?

I'm getting an error that //quiz.xml is not found - I think there is an extra "/" that the installer is looking for but can't figure out how to adjust it
