first and foremost your header is not centered and the colors dont match the page body.

Get ride of EMS community forums in the navbar and make it just forums. Also do the above.

Too many forums. Also your site needs a very specific, very unique target audience. There are way too many people who have useless forums about computers, movies, music, and games. Target a niche and stick with it.

a little to dark for my taste :(
You may want to work on your logo ... there is no contrast with the dark background
I would also recommend adding some contrast between the forums.
What is the site about?
What does ems stand for?

cool, it stands for Edinburgh Metal Scene, a site i set up when i was 18
its already established with 1200 odd members
see www.edinburghmetalscene.co.uk
and the phpbb forum
www.edinburghmetalscene.co.uk/forum
i know what your saying about the logo doesnt match the forum, this is just becouse im saving the logo as the last part, once i know the forums working ok, i can have more 'fun' doing photoshop at the end :)
