Wouldn't it be great IF......:
1. A calendar could be subscribed to just like any forum can....
2. Any change in that calendar would trigger a daily digest email like changes in forums do....
3. People could subscribe to any forum (even a forum that is acting as a category to organize subforums), and the daily digest email would include any new posts / changes IN ANY OF THAT FORUM'S SUBFORUMS AS WELL....
Currently, people have to subscribe to every forum individually, and they receive separate digest emails for each forum they're subscribed to. That defeats the purpose of the digest email acting as a SUMMARY so they don't have to wade through lots of email or posts to find just what's changed.
4. The digest email had the posts' CONTENT (or at least the first 'X' lines....) instead of merely links to the posts.
If all these things were possible, people could read that ONE digest email from a forum, and be totally up-to-date without even having to visit the forum itself. OR, they could read it during their commute on their PDA's without even needing a web connection.....
