Hmm, $FIRSTPOSTID is being defined in showthread.php.
Where did you try to use it?
Im trying to use in postbit template.
Tested this and some other but no luck:
<if condition="$post[postid] == $GLOBALS['FIRSTPOSTID']">
<if condition="$post[postid] == $FIRSTPOSTID">
fixed, now is called: $GLOBALS[qrfirstpostid]
Im getting crazy to remake all little mods and hacks ehehe, this version seems a new software, should be vb4 :D

Try:
$this->thread['firstpostid'] == $this->post['postid']
You will need to reference variables in the scope of the class object within the IF conditionals if there is not standard exposure for them.
Working ok too, but different like before in 3.0.7
I was using this to show a custom html code after first post of every thread page.
Now it only show after 'firstpost' on first page, and not in next pages.
