Hello,

I've been working on this site for a while now, and am finally ready to put it under cross-examination from the masters at vbulletin.org ...

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Just a warning, there is some bad language on the site so if you are offended then it's probably not for you.

Cheers,

Moses.

I thought it was looking great until I figured out that it wasnt the cmps page but the actual FORUM PAGE! :ermm:

I would suggest setting up a cmps for all of the info you have suffocating your forums.

I really like the board though..... GREAT IDEA! :D

I tend to agree - the problem I had is it used to be set up that way and a lot of my members haven't used forums before.. they couldn't find the forums to post in.

I think they've probably got the hang of it now so I'll change it back.. maybe tonight, when I get home from work..

My thoughts exactly. Your forum page is waaaay too cluttered with CMS style modules.

hahaha - the site has been mostly developed while under the influence..

I'm keen to get that layout sorted.. I'm just having issues getting the banner to work on the CMPS page.. will let you know when that's sorted though.

You have the code in the header template right?

Or
If you are referring to the header make sure everything in the all style vars is fully linked.

how'd you get a poll to display on the forumhome page?

the banner is actually in the navbar template.. long story but it worked there so I left it. The issue is that I have 100 images that rotate through the banner. I'm using a random php number to decide which one to show, but that number is being generated in phpinclude_start . I'll experiment with Javascript random numbers today...

The poll on forumhome is done with VBAdvanced CMPS. There's a whole section in the manual about integrating it.

What your going to have to do with all code associated with the banner is direct link everything. SO for example if is pulling a file and you have random.php now you have to actually put http://yoursite.com/forums/random.php. This is due to cmps being outside the directory.

thanks - I got it today though.. moved it into the header and it just worked!

now I just need to decide which modules to go where, and should get it all sorted this weekend... then back to work on my new hack which is a modification of the Arcade hack to keep our own drinking records such as fastest pint, most beer in 10 minutes....- medals in the postbit etc - all with video verification of course..

thanks mustang_lex . I've changed the layout fairly majorly today, I've followed corriewf's advice and seperated the CMPS News from the forumhome.

I've also changed the shoutbox to the GeekyDesigns one, and it seems pretty good at the moment.

Thanks for the advice so far - any comments on the updates?

I like the site  good job!

Suggestions
merge the 2 "Welcome to TheDrunk.com" panels
increase the font size ... currently, you have 2 different font-sizes (the 'welcome panel' vs everything else -- I prefer the 'welcome panel' font size)
Use less text on News panel
finally, What's the site about?
