calendar reminders

Can someonme make a hack for calendar, when you click on "request Reminder" it gives you the option to input when to be reminded (how many days/hours/ or specific time before event), and then a cron that we will setup to run every hour on the hour, and will look in subscribed events table to send those reminders out?

I think something similiar to this will be in vBulletin 3.5. I'd wait, it's easier :).
