View Full Version : GTP Site Map

The GTP SITE MAP Addon creates a site map for your web site.
A site map can help with search engine optimization.
A site map is a visual organized model of a Web site's content.
A site map gives users an overview of the site's sections in a single glance. In many ways, a site map is similar to a book's table of contents, in which each listed item links directly to its own section.
Tip
The site map interface should be familiar with your users. A successful site map is a simple hierarchical view of sections in a list format.
If a user has to 'work' (click here, click there) to review a whole site map the benefits of using the site map will be lost - show everything on one page.
A site map "should be no more than two-and-a-half times the window size most common among your users". - Jakob Nielsen
A "Site Map" link should be clearly visible at the top and at the bottom of page./* =========================================== */

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This hack only displays forum listing and what is on the template.
You can add other sections to site map by editing the template
Editing includes/adminfunctions_template.php is optional; however, you may want to do this as more hacks will be released by me
FIXED:
removed a phrasegroup not in use by others - caused erratic behavior
added 2 missing images
added valign="top" to right column
modified file to allow display of sections found in sub-forums
fixed htmspecialchars problem

same thing here. Looks like I got a middle eastern language version. Why would you want to put only one template in its own group?
Lionel

remove those from phrases and it will be fine 'global','gtp_global'
looks like something I can use.. but will it show up other upgrades on my board on the site map.. like flashchat, artciles hack, phot gallery.. etc.. etc.

Sorry to be picky princeton but those long blue lines give some users a horizontal scrollbar at 800*600 resolution. Any chance you could cut their length down a bit :) Thanks!

all hacks (addons) can be added via the template ...

It's just a starting point and a good one
A site map should be 'simple'. It should not distract.
The template is done in a fashion where most non-coders will be able to edit without a fuss.
same thing here. Looks like I got a middle eastern language version. Why would you want to put only one template in its own group?
that's because I have more than one hack to add -- you will see them soon :D

Very easy install. I think it is sweet. Nice and simple. Exactly how a site map should be.

you should add some padding to your menu structure -- it looks a little crowded
eg. padding between the links

The file modification is optional.
The phrase can be added via ADMINCP / LANGUAGE / PHRASES
The template needs to be added via ADMINCP / STYLES
do you have a url that you can provide? You can send me a pm if you don't want to post it publicly.
thanks

In Sitemap.php
Above
/* ==========[ PRINT PAGE ]======= */
Put
$arcade = $DB_site->query("SELECT title, gameid FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "games ORDER BY file ASC LIMIT 30");
while($games = $DB_site->fetch_array($arcade))
{
$get_games .= '<a href="' . $vboptions['bburl'] . '/arcade.php?do=play&gameid=' . $games['gameid'] . '">' . $games['title'] . '</a> ';
}
In The Template:
Below
<table cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%"><tr><td style="vertical-align:top">
Put
<table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" class="tborder" width="100%"><thead><tr><td class="tcat"><a style="float:$stylevar[right]" href="#" onclick="return toggle_collapse('games')"><img id="collapseimg_games" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/collapse_thead$vbcollapse[collapseimg_games].gif" alt="" border="0" /></a>Arcade Games</td></tr></thead>
<tbody id="collapseobj_games" style="$vbcollapse[collapseobj_games]"><tr><td width="100%" align="left" class="alt1">$get_games <b>»</b> <b><span class="time">Please</span></b> <a href="$vboptions[bburl]/register.php?$session[sessionurl]">$vbphrase[register]</a> <b><span class="time">
