This would give my signatures as admin a personal touch with the members.
How can i use tags like $bbuserinfo[username] in signatures ?

Thanks

I think, you will have to enable HTML in Signatures for same.
Not sure thought, lets wait till a coder replies :)

I don't think those variables are available in signatures.

these are not and will never be. if someone have access to the internal data of the board, imagine what he can do with other details than signatures... continue dreaming my friend...

OK..I have to respond here because I keep reading your posts and your replies (nexialys) and it just seems that you are an obnoxious, arrogant person.

The guy asked a simple question. A simple "You can't because..." would have sufficed but you always have to add you snithe remarks.

You are one pugnant little person. I hope you're not that way in the real world, cause if you are you must have alot of bruises.

THERE...I SAID IT!!!

Now I can Add you to my ignore list and be done with you!!!!

PS Sorry for jacking your thread amanpartaps.

Ok, that being said, can we now all get back on the subject please.

If you have a personal dispute, please keep it to PM or ask someone of our Staff in a PM to have a look into it. If you really feel that immediate actions is needed, you can always use the Report Bad Post link. No need to fight out differences in public.

LOL !!

Five replies and i thought i might have got what i was seeking... if you read the original post more deligently, i specifically said "as an admin" so there is no chance of anyone else accessing internal data...

To make my request a little bit more clear... we can do this easily in a page generated by vB webtemplates 3.0 hack here if i put the above bbcode... the name of the member is shown on that page. Showing username in the signatures would give my signatures a more personal touch and more penetration. I wonder why there is so much fuss over not showing the members name in the signatures.

Please any coder can guide me. Thanks in advance.

I would suggest you have a look at the /me /you hack. You might be able to use that for signatures to.

<a href="https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=76245" target="_blank">https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=76245</a> this, the /me, /userid etc hack... can be easily ported for the signatures, if it's what you need...

... i may have misread the first post, was not precise... this one is better
...and Jugo, next time, use the "REPORT" button instead of trashing on a thread that doesn't belong to you.

Dear Logician,

I applied the modification and you can see the result in the new attachment alongwith this post...

The gr8 thing is that it is now showing the username exactly as shown in your thumbnail but you would notice that my users also use formatting in their signatures and after the modification, i think, it not implementing the formatting properly and hence all the mess in attachment...

Thanks for your help, i think we are almost there with this mod :)

Thanks again.

Regards
Aman

sorry my bad. I wrote "REPLACE it as" instead of "ADD after". I updated my instructions. Do NOT replace the matched line, just add the hack line AFTER it.

(And also please remove the file you added here, it is not allowed to release full vb files here due to copyright reasons)

Thank You!! Thank You!! Thank You!!

It works like a charm... thanks a ton for your kind expertise. :)

I think this cute little hack should be properly released in the appropriate section as nobody has released such a modification before and it can be useful to many a administrators. :)

Thanks and Best Regards

Nice work logcian :claps: ... as such I think it will be more easier to implement it with a template edit.

Template postbit.

Above $post[signature]

Insert
<if condition="$post[userid] == 1">
$bbuserinfo[username]
</if>

Just my thought on the fly .. btw nice job done by you :)
