im thinking of purchasing vbulletin but my decision depends on how well i can integrate it with some cms system.

my host offeres these as preinstalled:

Drupal
Geeklog
Mambo Open Source
PHP-Nuke
phpWCMS
phpWebSite
Post-Nuke
Siteframe
Xoops

can you tell me which one of them best integrates with vb? ,

do you have any other suggestions? i dont mind installing something manually, as long as it's free, because i like to try everything out first, on MY server.

I know phpNUke and PostNuke go with vb, but im not sure how much I like them.
I like phpWebsite a lot, but I dont think that one integrates with VB.
ive checked out vbportal demo if im not wrong, and i cant say i liked it, it lacked some options i needed.

id like to try out the cms systems that integrate easily, and if i like them ill buy vb.

(and by integrate, i mean mainly that they use the same member database as the forum. i dont really need to have a lot of forum content on the front page, the site in question is more like an e-zine.)

thanks!

I recommend that you use vBAdvanced or vBPortal, both are good CMS and they both fully integrate to vBulletin. I am currently using vBAdvanced over at www.vBCore.com and I love it!

So my recommendation would be vBAdvanced

i dunno, they both seem too forum-orientated to me. is there an online demo of vBAdvanced?

Subdreamer generally gets my vote, its a standalone CMS, but integrates with the vbulletin forum.

This way you share the user database for both SD and vB, it also has modules to display latest posts from specified forum categories, post News Articles onto your CMS and also have them cloned into the forum at a specified location. Control access to individual pages and/or plugins by forum usergroup permissions, and much much more...

[Edit] Subdreamer isnt free, but a 'lite' version is available for trial and you can always ask on the Subdreamer forum if you have any concerns about the forum integration.

hmm yeah i thought about subdreamer before, but they didnt have an online demo so i wrote it off.

anyway, i installed mambo now. i actually really like it. apparently, its possible to integrate it with vb?

Tuning into this thread. I'm working on a similar effort and am looking for options.
