I think a feature which will allow vbulletin users to play backgammon and chess may add vbulletin a new awesome feature.
Members can play each other , they can create tournaments etc...
I hope someone can manage this :nervous:

I'm working on a games mod, should hopefully have a demo of the two games that are almost ready to be played (Chess and Reversi) up at http://vbgaming.org in the next couple weeks.
And no, I do not have a timeline as to when I'll release it... when it's done. Supporting one mod through a beta phase is more then enough for me.

Nice to hear Green adding multi player games to my site will make things better. I don't want all those 1P flash based games on my site.
Also Green I would like to speak to you via IM or PM so please PM me with the way you feel more comfortable.

Do you have also backgammon?
Andrew Green

Backgammon is possible, as are a few others. Those are just the only two that anything significant has been done with, other games I am considering are checkers, connect 4(as captains mistress to avoid trademarks), Go and backgammon.
But this despite those two being almost ready, there is a lot to do before I start thinking about any type of release.

Here's multiplayer chess that I have installed on my site:
http://www.majorleaguetalk.com/chess/
For now, it is a standalone chess server, because it uses it's own user/registration system. It is written in pure PHP and uses a mysql database. There is a phpBB integration for it, but not for vBulletin.
The only real integration with vB that is practical, would be to share the vBulletin User/Registration/Login system and since that's been done for phpBB, it's certainly feasible.
The chess pages were written as a standalone program with it's own css, and getting it to look like the rest of your vBulletin site will be a chore. That' not a real big concern for me, because I don't mind if the chess pages look totally different than the rest of my site.
Registered chess users can challenge other players who, in turn, can accept or decline the challenge. Games can be played at a snails pace and each player receives move notifications via email. If both players are online at the same time, they can switch to a realtime mode where the board is updated every few seconds. Chess clubs can be created, as well as tournaments. Users can customize board colors, and there's a chatbox below the game board.
I've attached screenshots of a game in progress and the admin console.

When i think about it, I don't think it would be too difficult to do this in vBulletin, I'll try to get a basic setup for next week sometime, I don't know how perty it will look, but I may have something for you guys to look at, after all I've got all summer with nothing to do :)

There's a chess addon by Carnage- if you want to use that. You've consistently spammed this thread with necromancy though.
