subscribed threads alert

Hi

do you think its possible to have some kind of alert appear on forum home if a new posts has been made in one or more of the user subscribed threads.

I had this suggestion from one of my users, kinda like the PM alert but instead letting them know theres a new reply.

I know theres a instant email feature but this could be alternative.
