Hello there
I'm looking into transforming a larger phpbb Board into vBulletin Board. I have now found almost all the hacks that I need on here - except for one:
I need the ability to show the last 5 active posts of every forum on the index-page directly next to the forum description. In the standard installation there is always the forum description and then next to it "last post" with one last post in it.
This should profide a faster overlook over the topics that are discussed in the various forums. I have done this in phpbb and my members love that. Is there something similar on vBulletin.
Thanx in advance for any answer.

ps. It's sad that I need a licence to see all the pictures in the posts.. this makes it sometimes more difficult to evaluate the extensions.

I am not aware of a current hack that would do that, but maybe i missed a few.

thanx for the fast response.. Do you think this would be difficult to implement? I have no experience with vB and I have never seen the source.
Back when we did that for the phpbb there were concerns about the multiple database requests. But in the end this wasn't a performance issue at all. And after all it's a nice feature that is of high benefit.

It would not be that difficult to implement, but it could have performance issue's if not coded correct.

do you know of any vb experienced programmers that would be able to correctly programm such a module?
I would also pay a fee for that work, but if someone does such things for free that would also be ok..

We have to areas of this board for posting request:
- Modification Requests, for unpaid requests.
- Service Request, for Paid requests.
Maybe you can find someone who likes this idea, and want to spend some free time on it.
Otherwise it would become a paid request, enough (good) coders around here that can fullfill such a request. Before posting a service request make sure to read the sticky posts in top of that section. It could help you in select the right person to do the job for you.

I'll buy a license as soon I have a solution for all the features I need. When I don't find anyone that will help me with this - it will take some more time to evaluate.
Before I start any project every detail must be defined.
Whatever.. if there is now way someone can point me to someone that could realize such a module I will have to further evaluate a little more.

I am sure you will find someone to help you out on this. If you can not find anybody, i will help you myself. Talking about the last x posts on forumhome now, since i think that is your last open end.

yes that is.. for everything else I was able to find available modifications.
The only thing that is missing now is that per forum on the mainpage with the overview of all forums there is only shown onw last post per forum. Like described what I need is the ability to show up to five posts per forum in this "last post" section. I know this will extend the hight of the page but this is a liked feature for people that are on the site all day..
If you say this isn't a big issue and you or someone else will help me for sure then I will start soon.
