Call home function thingy- where is it?

Last year I saw a mod where it tells me how to remove the call home function thing in ACP; now when I searched through the forum it is removed because vb developers don't like it to be removed but I could do it myself if I want... so, where's that part of code? In which file for 3.0.7?

I am not requesting a hack, I just want to know where it is so I can remove it myself.

well the version check itself is in the admincp, so I'd assume it's in one of those files.
