color is a little dull -- it needs some cheering up

remove the google ad from the top -- put it elsewhere ... it shouldn't be the FIRST thing people see when entering your site -- it's a big FLAG and will be ignored

if you place the ad next to your content you will get more hits

Agreed.

Also as far as the ad is concerned. if you want the ads to adhere to the site's purpose or to be more streamlines with your topics, change your keywords in the vBullein settings to something that deals with your site and its purpose.

Otherwise, it looks inviting.

The layout is nice, the only think I would change would be the color scheme. Maybe to like a red/navy theme or something simmilar?
