View Full Version : my vbulletin ID
Hi, it's been so long since I've become involved in the computer, and I am wondering if it is possible to view my vbulletin ID (the one I paid for) and stuff that I used to make this account work on these forums so I can maybe start a new forums
In other words, someone paid for my vbulletin license and as time passed and I lost interest in it, I am now possibly interested again, so is there a way to get the license from here since I used it to activate my forum account on these forums? Or does vbulletin.org not keep a history of that?

You are going to need to contact vBulletin.com and proove you are the rightful owner of the license. Before you will get access to the members area.
How would that be possible? As I said, somebody else paid for it for me. Why am I not allowed to view my vbulletin license from this forum account? I used it to activate it!

No one says you are not allowed. Zachery said that you need to "prove" to vbulletin.com that you have a licence. which mean you can access to member area at vbulletin.com with your account, and have your email address listed in the support list. That's all whay you need to do, you are then "allowed" to use member functions.
If you forgot or dont know the account, you can contact vBulletin.com customer service for detail
:) have fun

We don't have that data here, you'll have to go through Jelsoft.

Because the name on the license by default is in the ame of the person who bought it, even if it was for you it may still be in their name, and they would need to transfer it to you.
Okay all, thanks. But if you do keep records of the vbulletin IDs used to activate the accounts on THIS form, please let me know. As I said, someone bought it for me...and while I have been guilty of pirating in the past, and so I'll consider the loss of the gift I received as some form of karmic reward, I will point out that the person who bought it for me is...well...I am uncertain. I since removed their contacts from my buddy list on AOL, and the person was sort of an Internet acquaintance, so I really don't know them that well to be able to further persue lost information on the vbulletin ID they bought for me.
So, hopefully someone will see the loss here and assist me, unless you too also agree it could be a way of "balancing out the universe" with karmic law and all, although I myself believe in a spiritual transcension by which we can embody Christ and bring the kingdom of God to earth, even removing misqualified energy (such as the pirating of the software and the bad nature of my dealings at that time). So, I also believe that it would be just as righteous to reuse the license without considering karma.
Okay, thanks again. Bye

We do not keep any of that data here, its all stored in the members area at vBulletin.com.
Like I said unless you can prove the license is yours to us or get them to hand the license over to you there is not much we can do.
You're best off contacting sales@vbulletin.com with whatever data you do have avaible, like the license number or customer number.
Well, I do access this account, and its e-mail address is umliak@aol.com
You can e-mail me there and I can respond to it...that's about the best I can do. However, you can view some of my older threads with which I posted in that prove I, the owner of umliak@aol.com e-mail, have/had a vbulletin license.
I guess what you really need to prove is that the umliak@aol.com e-mail, which has been registered to this account since day one I believe, is indeed owned by me who posted this thread. So, if I can prove that, would that be enough? I have long since removed old records of my material, as people hacked my forums and I turned from them. However, that doesn't mean I don't want to still use the vbulletin license, so I am interested (possibly still) in using it now.
So, is there any way that I can prove I own this account and am not a hacker? You can look on archive.org for http://www.mongerz.net/ or http://caz.psyker.net/ and whatnot on archive.org and then view my forum account's profile which indeed should tell you that the one who owned the forums has the same e-mail address as me...is that proof enough?
As it stands, the license should not be in use, so if there is a way for you to see that it is idle, you will indeed be affirmed more confidently to believe, truly, that I am the owner.
So, please let me know.

Like I said, this is not the place to do it.

As it stands, I doubt vbulletin.com would believe somebody bought me an account, I no longer have correspondance with them physically, I gave up all activity regarding forums, the vbulletin.com license is not in my e-mail, but it was indeed given to me. The best bet I have is using my dealings with THIS forum (vbulletin.org) to confirm to YOU guys that I am indeed not being fraudulent...plus, I don't even remember the guys' e-mail, customer ID, or license # used that he gave me. I deleted the file records of it which were on another login/username to this computer.
So, how can I approach vbulletin.com to something I really have no details about? They wouldn't even know what vbulletin license or customer ID I am referring to...so, I am turning to this place as I would make this the best bet to accessing the material (the vbulletin license), since it might still exist recorded here. However, if apart from these forums I have not really any other trace/confirmation of the material to talk to vbulletin.com, they would have to create a new license or customer ID for me, which they probably wouldn't do (if they think I am lying, or don't even know then if the license is expired or if it doesn't expire without knowing WHAT license I am talking about).
So, basically, these forums are my best bet at accessing the license and recalling it. Other than that, I don't know the person's credit card # he used to buy it for me, I don't know his e-mail used, I don't own his e-mail, I am not in contact with him, etc. I simply had the license and password and used it as he gave me it. Apart from me it should be either idle, or expired (although there could be no expiration to it, I am simply uncertain, as I said, I have been uninvolved in such areas of Internet activity for some time, as life ventures in other directions).
So, I am asking if you guys can tell me it, as I used it to activate this account. Do you understand? Apart from this website, the odds are slim unless for some reason I find some old contact information to the person who paid for it or remember such information and then get in touch with him.
Like I said, this is not the place to do it.
CONTACT support@vbulletin.com
Fine, but like you also said, I am "best off contacting vbulletin.com".
Best off? I figured I'd take use of that wording by explaining my situation, but as it stands you obviously have no care, unless you didn't mean to say "best off" and meant to say, "vbulletin.org CAN'T help you with this". Because, as I've explained, I most likely NEED vbulletin.org to help me.
vBulletin.org can not help you in this situation, we never see customer details, license numbers, customer numbers etc.
We simply verify your account here via the e-mail address you used in your account here. In the members area there is a page where you can input up to 3 e-mail addy's, anyone using these addy's on vBulletin.com's forum, here, or vBulletintemplates.com is allowed access to restricted forums.
Contact support via the e-mail address zak gave you (support@vbulletin.com) and tell them the e-mail addy you used in your account here, they will be able to trace it back to the license it is associated with.

Another thing. If it's been ages since you used the license, you probably don't have member area access anymore. If it is an owned license, you are going to have to fork over the $30 annual fee to be able to download the latest version.

On that note, thread closed. As stated numerous times, there is absolutely nothing this site can do to recover your license information at all. You need to contact support@vbulletin.com. You can retrieve license information for a still-active e-mail address bound to your license by going to the Member's Area and clicking Cancel on the authentication dialog, then following the appropriate links.
