Exclude forum from overall post count?

How can I exclude a certain forum(s) from the overall post count on the main forum page? I have a private board on my site with a very high post count and I'd rather it not be included with the overall board statistics for thread and post totals.

I know you can set up a forum to not increase a user's individual post count...but I don't want to do that.

Any ideas? I'm relatively comfortable with altering code and installing hacks...I'm just not good at coming up with them. :nervous:

this addon has been requested several times on vb.org and vb.com.
although, there is no solution yet.
