Everytime I try to reply to my thread in the vb articles forum, it adds the reply to my first post! Is it supposed to be set up like this or???

It's an incredibly annoying 'anti spam' feature they added to prevent multiple posting.
I have lost count now of the number of times I have had something else I'd like to say in a thread, which would look wrong placed in my previous post, so I've not bothered saying it. It does more harm than good.
Even worse is that offensive 'auto merged accidental double post' crap it adds to the bottom of your post....makes you look like some sort of idiot.
As you may be able to tell, I am not the biggest fan of this feature!

Thats crazy, if my thread doesn't get answered in a few days, instead of bumping it to the top, looks like we will have to start creating new threads every few days I guess, some threads just get lost and need to be bumped.
Nothing against the new features of this site or anything, but when people do bump threads, they get responses.

It was designed to keep the bumping of posts down, trust me, it was annoying to us, when some people would bump a post 8 times in one day.

They can wait 24 hours to bump their posts, theres no reason to do it more than that, we are not some huge site like giai

And actually i like, i even use it. Instead of editing my post if i forget something, i just post a replyDitto. I am actually so addicted to this feature that if they ever take it off, I will be seen double posting for a week before I can let it go ;)
I forgot it was off in the Hack forums once, too :p
I would like to say thanks to the staff for this feature, and also extend the thanks by saying that it is great that you allow deletion of own posts, just because of the new trap I fell in (the above) :)

This is correct. This feature is superb and unique. I have no complains.
Xenon made it and if I am right he also made it so that when your posts are merge, the dateline will be the newest post's dateline that is merged. correct me if vb.org doesn't use that.

the dateline of the post is not changed here on vb.org
as it should mainly prevent bumping, and with dateline changes, bumping would work again ;)
