was wondering if anyone had added [table][tr] and [td] tags and if so how they'd done it. I kinda want to add them, but using the bb code manager theres no way to make it so you have to conform to slightly stricter rules on the usage of the tags (ie tr has to be inside table etc)
A code based solution may be the only way to go...

<table><tr><td>{param}</td></tr></table>
something like that, not so hard to bbcode

no... my thinking on this would be along the lines of:
some contentsome mroe content
with seperate tags for table td and tr

just use what he posted, but instead of just one, make it for all of them
ie. <table>{param}</table>
<tr>{param}</tr>
etc...

i don't think anyone is quite seeing what i'm asking.
it is fairly easy to add [table] and [td] tags what i'm asking is how to prevent dumb users from messing up layouts with them. For example:
if someone was to use [tr]some text on its own it would add a new table row part way through their post.
What i'm aiming to do is ONLY parse the tags if they are done correctly.

I don't think it's possible to do so, if you want that then just [table] with td and tr in

thats why i was saying that you would probably need to code a solution. i was asking here to see if anyone had or had found another way to do it, before attempting to code it myself

No. there is no other way. You would have to edit the code for a replacement variable so it would always do what YOU expect. Basically match it, and if it doesn't match to what you want, then replace it with another code.
There is no way to do this without editing the code, as far as I know that is.
