Displaying latest threads in left column

Hello Folks,

I want to be able to display the latest threads on the forum in a left column. This should be on the forum index.php page. Although I have found the hack to create the left column, I am still not sure howto include a list of latest discussions ( if its configurable, the better ) there.

Can anyone guide me ?

Err.. no one ? Surely would be glad if someone was able to hint at what can be done here :)

You can use vBadvanced CMPS, then use the "Latest threads" module.

I wasn't sure about using an entire new software to just show a block of information :D , but looks like there is no much choice here. I'd appreciate it, if there are any more insights on how we can do so, with the least 'bloat' :)
