Hey all.

I think Invision Board (or some other software) displays page numbers on the thread listing in the following way, if there are 14 pages, for example:

1,2,3 ... 12,13,14

Surely there is a hack like this for vB, right? I think this method makes far more sense, and can be extremely convenient.

I will second this, not that something doesn't exist for it but if it does, I haven't been able to find it. It's been brought up a couple of times before.

I think this is already done in vbulletin options.

Works that way on my forums, not sure what else you're looking for.

this is a typical vb pagination system:
Page 1 of 1131 | 1 | 2 | 3 | > | Last | ยป |

what he wants is
Page 1 of 1131 | 1 | 2 | 3 | ... | 1127 | 1129 | 1130 | 1131 |

This is controlled by your pagenav templates, however I believe a query would have to be created to grab the last x number of pages, then displayed. If I were home I would like to attempt it :)

Don't think an extra query would be needed. The total number of pages are already available, so the last 3 could be displayed.

Does anyone happen to be up to the challenge of writing this hack? I would, if I could..

I agree. The 3 pagenav templates and in includes/functions.php
function construct_page_nav
needs to be re-written entirely, tried it, failed miserably.. but that should do it.
