I can create a "limited" version if you need that does not need the server admin PW. The data for the non-password area is very limited.

Thinking about this I don't know of an easy way of integrating without modifying the .ppl file somehow, you could always put the link in an authentication page somewhere but it won't help if people use the direct link.

Does somebody know, how i can update automaticall the playing Box in an 1 minute intervall ? I am using also a Shoutbox, this is refreshing each 1 minute, how i can do same in the scast-box ?

I have also some non standard characters in the song names like ä ö ü , does somebody know how i can let display those ? Is there any possibility to change charset from streaming ?

You might make an Iframe with a <meta> refreash tag, and in the frame pull the up the $scast template. Unsure of characters not showing up. I would think that it should show whatever the title is. I'll play with it and see whats up.

shoutcast will kill your bandwidth, and in that case i will then wring your neck for running out of bandwidth on our server

This is the IP address of the system that you have Shoutcast server installed too. I would not know this info.

EX:If I had my server hosted by "Google"

Yes it is a hog. The bandwith useage depends on "# of users connected" and the quility of the song in kbps.

uploadspeed / bitrate = max listeners , always leave some for overhead

example in your case 256k uploadspeed / 56k bitrate = max 4 listeners ( 4* 56 = 224kbps ) keep in mind that your provider says he gives you 256kbps upload, the actual speed might be much lower.

The ID3v1 transmits from your DJ (or other source) to the shoutcast server. This will not use file names. (if you do not fill out the ID3v1 tag the output will be a dash " - "

It simply displays current information from any existing shoutcast server.

Okay, i will display 2 different shoutcast server. If the first offline, the second stream music and the other way round.
The first server is my own, the second server are from my Co-Admin.

I searched on vb.com / org and found there to be no way to have 2 collapsable tables nested. I could make it like the rest of the menus, but I would have to place all the other info in a popup or something.

All the info can unfold by default, but I thought "wow" that is a long table to have open all the time when a shoutcast is going.

I am open for ideas :nervous:

This is what i put into my forum_shoutcast_off template....it did the trick.

Cool man ... I did it "my way" to allow current playing, # ppl on, connection links.
"push more info button" for all the other stuff (extra info).

I need to find some sound code on the players that asks the "guest" that tunes in to to install if not installed. At the moment if the player is not installed Red X.

I'll read up some more for it to work cross browser.

i just found out that the scast.php file you included in the zip here isn't closed with a "?>" php tag. adding that at the bottom of the file doesn't really help... Could you plz check that file out for further errors?

k, i tried like everything i could. the cleanxml output from shoutcast doesn't change anything.

I see the scast php accessing my shoutcast server in the shoutcast log. still i got a blank forum index page when i require_once('./scast.php');. I suppose that means that the piece of php code i posted above is working, but the rest of it ain't working (+ the ?> that was missing in the scast.php file).

so my questions are:

1) is the scast .php file complete and compatible with vB3.0.3?
2) is the xml file with templates good for vB3.0.3?

I REALLY would like to see this working on my board, certainly when i see others don't have any problem with it... btw: this is one of the most simple hacks to make on vB, i did so many before, still i'm pulling hair out my head on this one ;s

The XML makes the templates for you.

if i put require_once('./scast.php); right after require_once('./global.php); but before require_once('./includes/functions_bigthree.php'); and require_once('./includes/functions_forumlist.php'); the page is blank except for the char "c" standing in the right top corner.
would this output help to figure out the problem?

- @fsockopen is the problem.

I think its a problem w/ your PHP on your server.
- I did a search and there are tons of links to problems.

Am I doing something wrong here? I've installed everything and for 5 days already. I havent even see any server on yet? It always saying "Our server is down or shoutcast server is down". Why is that? What can I do to activate the server?
