Hi,

As I really enjoy the vb board, I also enjoy some existing scripts I have running.

I know there are a few resources about creating hacks, but I have a generell question:

I know a bit PHP / HTML. What I mean with "a bit" is, I cannot create scripts from scratch, but I am able to read and understand it actually.

How hard is it now actually to create a hack based on an existing script ?

For exmaple take a look at a recent installed Upload / Download script ( http://unrealadmin.net/Uploadz/public/ ). That one is great. As you will see it does not look that great for now, but I am still working on it ..

Anyway, I want to know how hard it is to port that one into vBulletin. I have tried already to find people to do that for me but my recent experience with finding people (would pay for it) is not that great (one exception though).

So I am TRYING to bring this into vBulleting which would be great for the community as well I think ...

Any suggestions how to start ? Where to start ? Do I have to be a geek to be able to etc. ? Just asking as there a massive of templates in vb and it is hard to see where to start ....

Well, any help ... helps :) Even if you just see that this script would be great and easy and you are able to create this hack, I opened also a request on https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=613447#post613447

Exactly how do you want it to integrate with vB?

Edit: Reading on their board it seems that someone is already working on it.

Well, actually like vbdownloads but with the features of olate ...

A navbar for the categories and also the features of the admincp of olate ...

Also important password protected downloads as I am also Beta tester were only a few people should have access to it ...

Either password protected downloads or downloads which are only accessible for a certain user group ...

you may want to look at the "Modification hints and tips" forum, it's very useful for vb newbie.
