Hi, I've searched a bit on the forum and can't seem to find a hack compatible with version 3.0.6. I use to have a hack on version 2.3 called something like "who might this new user be?". It's a hack that would scan a new member's details against the member database and look for matches in IP address, email address, password and ISP. It was very useful to catch returning banned members.
Does something like that exist for version 3.0.6?
Thanks

kruppa, do you really need a hack to do this? :)

I wish I didn't but I always get waves of people from time to time that need to stay banned. Right now I have a Xena freak and a Jesus/bible freak that keeps starting the same advert thread in every section of my forum. I don't want to scan every new member manually.
This hack used to send me an email report for everyone who registers. I'd just like to know if there is one for this version.

I installed the "miserable users" mod for this. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=59727
Description:
- There is a random 60-120 second delay each time they click on a link.
- 90% of times they have no search engine acccess.
- 75% of the times they get the server too busy error.
If they don't get the server too busy error:
- 50% of the times they may get a blank page
- 30% of the times they may get forwarded to the forum main page
- 20% of the time they may be able to see the page they asked for.
It's a great alternative to banning because it keeps them on your site but they can't do anything. At first glance this mod is quite rude but so are the spammers that you keep banning. So, instead of banning them, slap them into the miserable users group (I call it the slammer) and they won't know what hit them. They can still register new names and all but it makes it much more difficult.
