Hey Cinq,
I am really looking forward to trying out your mod! I installed it per the instructions but whenever I bring up the articles.php page it is nothing but a blank screen. I am sure I did something wrong but I am not sure what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you run the installer?

Yes, should I reupload the files, drop the tables from my db and try again?

Blank screen most of the times are a sign of a missing template. Are you using more then 1 style? If yes, try using the default style.

Yes, that's very much the cause of this. He has the templates installed on the default template but not on the rest.

Ok, you will have to bear with me since I am a vbulletin newbie. What exactly do I need to do?
Hmm yes, it only installs on the default styleid.
You will need to add the templates in for the other styles as well ( which could be tedious since there are many templates and you look to have many styles ).
Let me see if I can write a template installer for you, could you drop me a PM with the style IDs you have ? ( Admincp -> Styles and Templates -> Style Manager , for each of the style, hover your cursor over the style link, there should appear in your status bar the URL with a &styleid=x where x is the value I am asking for )

Thanks Cinq, PM sent.

InDepthArts - this isn't too hard to fix actually in lieu of cinq writing an installer for you. in the install_vbarticles.php file, there is a line that says $styleid=[something];
Just change the part after the = to the # of your style, reupload the installer, run it ONLY to the part where it installs the templates and then exit out of the web browser. I just did the exact same thing yesterday but thankfully I remember that little trick from a few other hacks. You can get the styleid from your admin CP. If you open up the styles and templates and just hover your mouse over the template name, you'll see the styleid # on the status bar (assuming you're using IE) on the lower left corner. Just plug that # into the installer, upload, run, click to the template install (one click I think), exit, rinse and repeat for your other templates.
Yep, that would do it.
InDepthArts, if you don't understand how to do it after reading through AuroraMike's explanation, let me know and I will send you what you need to get this going on your other styles. :)

Mike, That worked! I am in business now, the only issue I see is that when I use the default template one of the tables turned black. No matter though as I dont plan on making the default template available.
Cinq, Once I get my articles ported over to the new system you can use my site as a demo site since it should be a good example of a large installation of vbarticles because I will end up with about 280 reviews. If all goes well I will make sure to donate to your further development of the software.
Thanks again guys,
Eric

It could be a case of me missing an
class="alt1"
in one of the td tags.
In any case, v2.0 ( which is coming very soon ) should correct it, since all templates created will be new ones, so I'd suggest do not customize the templates too much at this point. Wait for the upgrade :)

Sure thing, just let me know :)

Would be much appreciated, thanks :)

On what I am sure is a related note, I am not getting all of the last six options on the Articles Management screen, you know the ones that show what paths to use for images? Any ideas? I did, yesterday, try rolling back the changes to the database so that I can re-install from scratch... is there a missing field now that is causing not all of the options to show?
I feel like a dumbass!
When you say you are not getting the last 6 options, do you mean their description and titles are not viewable ( but you can see 6 rows there ), or you aren't even seeing the empty rows ?
Screenshot if possible would be good

I'm not getting anything:
What did you do when you 'rolled back' the first install ?
Manually remove all the phrases, templates, setting additions, tables etc ?
If the 2nd reinstall went smoothly, and all the settings are added correctly, you shouldn't face this problem.
Do a check in your phrases for setting_vbartartimgpath_title, does anything turn up ?

I do see that phrase in my list. Pretty much all I did was try to drop the tables and remove a few values from the DB... is there a tool that will roll back the changes to the DB so I can try that part of the install again?
Check the settings table, you may have duplicates, causing the 'no-show' of some of those settings.
Take a look at the install_vbarticles.php file, the portion which inserts the settings, to see which settings titles you should be looking out for.

I hate to be a pain but is there a way I can alter the install file to do the opposite in the database? My install is mucked up right now and I would just prefer to start new.
I'll send something over tmr for you Eric. Drop me a PM with your email contact.

Thanks Cinq, PM sent, I will try to go through the list manually tonight if I can get some free time.
