Anyone know if this would be possible?
Anyone know if this would be possible?
I sincerely doubt it unless they let you backup at all.
I suppose someone could make a spidering bot to grab all the posts but i dont know much about the ethics behind it all.

I,like others have been looking for this answer for 6 months or more.
The problem has been getting them downloaded from yahoo. I have found a program that brings them down in tables and fields format in MSAccess. The problem is yahoo trys to lock you out, however after setting the program up ,On high speed internet in US, I managed to get 40,000 (120 megs) off in an hour, locked out by yahoo for three hours and got the rest the next try.
Our intention is to put these in a searchable archive database and integrating it to advanced search page. 1st problem is msaccess tables have to be converted to mysql. I have done that and set them up in a table in the same database vBulletin runs on. big task is to figure out how to code php files to search the tables from a search box(more coding) on advanced search page. Then to have them coded to display in a similiar format as the forum search does now.
Any Php coders or hackers that have dealt in these areas wishing to put in their 2cents worth or willing to work with me for a final resolution your help would be greatly appreciated. Please PM me if interested.
If we get this figured out it will help many as I have seen the need on all three Vb forums, by the way impex will not import yahoo groups.I and three others could not get it to do yahoo properly. also this will be the best result to salvage the material when leaving yahoo, put it in archives for reference and keep the clutter off of the new forum.
We are also seeking a solution to the suscription delivery email messages
problem, need to be able to send daily digests like yahoo for some and need to have those users be able to answer and submit reply by e-mail, I think this is doable with a little input from the right coders....PM if interested in project

What was the program that writes to an MSAccess db?
This script (http://sourceforge.net/projects/grabyahoogroup/) will write each message to its own text file.
