A request from users at my board. They wish to be able to choose whether or not the new posts from a certain forum (with subforums) should appear on the index and in the new post search.
i.e unless they have selected to view forum 2, when they go to the index they will see the full forum 1 and 3 and 4, but forum 2 will either be gone or minimized (pending on the template, some allow you to minimize a forum, leaving just the main title).
They want this feature because forum 2 is a "community chat" forum, while all other forums are more board related. Not all users are interested in reading the latest joke about blondes, they want the interesting stuff.
The reason why I'm asking for a new feature instead of just splitting the board into two different usergroups, is that I want users to be able to choose if they wish to view the forum or not. One day they might want to go in there, and it's a lot easier just changing a setting in the user cp than changing usergroup/permissions/access masks.
So.. Any comments? Is it possible and can it be added into the profile? or at least added in as an additional feature to a usergroup?
