If i go on holiday or something, i come back to vb.org and look at the 'Latest hacks module' and think, damn what other hacks have been released before those last 5. I propose to have an extra page for like the last 20 released hacks say.

It's been asked for a few times, and always the answer seems to be no.

Personally, I would love to see this site implement the community bulletin hack and then send out a weekly update on the new hacks that have been created in the full releases forums and the beta forums.

Emailing 67,000+ users every week is a pretty colossal task! :speechless:

Nah. Not all of them would subscribe.

Nah. Not all of them would subscribe. even then, you still have the possibility that a large number would sign up.
But, I know Linuxquestions.org does email all of their members acommunity bulletin. So i'm not sure what the problem would be. :)

I will jump on board for this too, just a simple More... that takes you to a new page listing out the previous 10 or 20 would be great. :)

it dosnt have to be big ... just links to new releases
I would like to see a email to, maybe not weekly, maybe monthly or bi-monthly. I'm sure we would have to clear something like that with the server admin first. Sending emails out to a lot of users can be a pain, I'm sure you guys with larger boards know what I'm talking about. :)
Erwin: Is'nt it possible to retrive a list with search.php already? ;) I forget exactly how you had to pass a link, maybe it required a tweak I forget. :)

that's doable with the default search engine already, why clutter the list even more?

Maybe. But its easier for the end user, And would be such an easy addon here at vb.org. I dont see why it would be so difficult and there have been other requests :]

i'm a big fan of this idea, making it opt-in, not opt-out.
