i need a sponsor banner hack that looks like this, can anyone help or point me in the right direction? thanx!

Hmm, you don't really need a hack for this - can be done with template edits.
Take a look at Template forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost

Take a look at Template forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost yea but thats a pain in the ass, i wanna be able to control it through the Admin cp, thats MUCH easier....

There are similar hacks to display banners within the forums, they could be easily modified to display it like in your screenshot.
