What Does it Do?
This script will allow your users to upload images onto your server and use them in forums and other sites. You can limit how many images a person can upload and how big the files can be. There is also a watermark feature which will allow you to watermark upload images with any text you want.

You should really use default vB template structures. I had to remove a lot of custom styling and extra cells with broken images. See Exernon's post above. This hack has good potential, though.

no they will have to delete the old one first


as for the error some people are recieving i am looking into it, the function used is a php 3,4,5 function there is no gd involed

i have update the files and re posted them up all templates should now work with vb default style, you will need to uninstall then reinstall for the changes, those who had the can't get image size error that should also be fixed please can you keep me updated on this now.

sorry that do not remove is in both templates and can be removed i ment the copyright below that but you can't do comments in templates, for the water mark make sure you hace it switched on and some text set in the settings and that you have gd libray installed

Ok, maybe this will help someone else. I was getting the getimagesize error I just posted about but I managed to fix it myself.

For upload directory the script says to use "home/user/www/forum/hosted_images", therefore I used -> home/MyUser/public_html/forum/hosted_images

When instead I should have used "/home/MyUser/public_html/forum/uploader/"

Note the slashes. That fixed it.

It seems the installer is modding actual php files...mine did not edit.

I opened file_mods.php and saw the changes in there and did it manually.

Yeah I used 3.0.7.

Also I had a lot of troubles during the install, also during the uninstall, the file edits did not work. So I manually uninstalled everything the reinstalled it manually. I opened the files and figured out the queries, I am going to try to do another clean install and see if I can come up with any solutions, I will let you know.

Also, I redownloaded and uploaded, and installed...I still run into the same exact problem. User groups are set correctly too.

When I view images, it doesn't show the images.

It is pointing to my

/bbb/hosted_images/ directory when it should be pointing to just hosted_images/

installation
1. copy all files to your forum directory keeping the folder structure.
2. run http://www.yoursite/forum/install/hack_install.php
3. follow prompts when finished there are a couple of file mods you need to do
4. Just add links in your nav bar to:
image_host.php?do=uploader (this is the uploader)
image_host.php?do=images (this is the gallery of the users images)
5. All compelte please donate and i will keep the updates coming

thats a very cool hack!!!

but it would be nice if it also creates a thumbnail and shows it in the forum code so i can add it to a post. anyone who wants to see the full image can click the thumbnail in my post and gets the full image.

automatical renaming the files after the upload would be also great like

a IT professional never installs a new software or a big update (WinXP SP2) before testing it on a seperated PC.

The hack should be moved to beta section .period. if the time was taken to develop the
hack properly this would not of happened. Yes I did a backup prior to the hack

I normally don't like to point out ignorance because you've already done that enough with your post. But come on man.. have you ever taken the time to code a hack properly? Plus, if it's working for other people then the problem could be on your side.

Anyways, as stated above. You modify vBulletin at your own risk. Instead of getting mad at the coder himself, you should be mad at yourself for not trying it out on a test board first.

but it works for me and other members.

its like developing software. you have a softwarebuild thats stable and testet, this version will be sold. after a few days a few people will pop up with a problem that the software isnt working on their PCs/Servers. should the developer realy take his product off the market and take it back to beta? well if that would be so how often would we have seen that with the Windows OS?

This hack isnt working for you, ok. but instead of argumenting why this hack should be moved to the beta forum you should better provide the coder with some informations. thats what you, what everyone has to do to help the coder find and fixing bugs in the code.

I am not alone with this problem, and the coder announced it he was rewriting
the uninstall functions. not to mention the countless code updates that seem to
crisscross between posts as the thread progresses.

I think that's is sufficient information to say this hack is not ready for this forum section.
Furthermore this thread is headed into a pointless argument.

If a hack maker admits his or her own hack is problematic and needs a rewrite
then there is plenty of reason to back that release into the beta section.

When I get my db back online and I can successfully uninstall the hack.
I will look into providing the proper documentation to troubleshoot it. At this point
I don't have that option.

I understand your point. You do have a valid arguement and I agree with what you have said about moderation and beta releases.

Be honest though, will this being in Beta really stop people from installing it? I for one do not usually install beta releases but there are quite a few who do. It is also clear that this is a Beta release in the original topic.

I don't know, while I agree with some of your points it is still modified at your own risk and recommended to install on a test forum first. That would have prevented your forum being down for the weekend. But as you said earlier, you've learned from this so it should all be good now.

I have the two options in my admincp to view and add usergroups, but the view usergroup page just comes up as a blank blue screen (the bg of the admincp color). Anyone have any idea why it's doing this?

hi ppl sorry for the lack of support and slow replies i have been very busy i have now recoded this for version 3.5 i have it working on the beta but won't release it until the stable vrsion comes out. i have tried ti iron out all the bugs i can i am also re-writing the install script so it will be easily installed and uninstalled seem as that is where mst of the problems were if any1 wants any features add please let me know

i installed it and it seems like it is working except in my admincp i cant change the usergroup permissions so i have no permission to even test if the script is working

I also get this error when I do the fresh install, so I had to take the initiative and alter my DB tables and remove what was put in there. I'm back to normal again.

Anyway, this should be the first thing you fix because this is installation screwups which may cause problems to people who don't know what their doing.

Then worry about the other errors. I'm hoping your still working on this hack, as I want this hack very bad. It's 1 of the hacks I've been looking for to addon to my site to make it better.

I have a quick question..... I recently upgraded my vBulletin to 3.0.9, and now when I go to the image hosting pages, its just a blank page.... I had two other mods that had the same problem, but I just re-installed the themes through the MOD's installer, but I'm not sure how to repair the themes on this mod........How do I accomplish this?

This script is piece of crap, simple script that is made soo complex that looses track that users just need a simple script. Need to write the script myself!! The intention is good but will do more harm better not to share your script. This author went overboard with lack of quality control and negligence against fellow coders.

After reviewing the forum I am getting all the errors people gettting - missing files , error messages, errror log, upgrade quiries. Need to download from my master files going to waste another 30min. This mod should be banned and user banned also.

I recommend this coder tnguy3n, it works perfectly not sure if any security issues need to check when I have time. Very easy to customize to make it better. This is exactly what I was looking for, link is below

Actual the mod above is not fully safe the guy is not using move_uploaded_file and is_uploaded_file command.

This modification is for vB 3.0.x. If you are using 3.5/3.6 it will most likely not work.
