This hack will show a small *human* :) picture under a number of posts in threads and in the memberlist showing if you're male or female.
Added a new field to user profile where (s)he can set it up. All required notes are included in a zip file which can be downloaded here (https://www.idrive.com/pefel/Shared).
[I don't have another free web space on the Internet, if anyone can move it onto his/her server, I appreciate it and will change the link immediately. Thanks.]
Demo is not available. I'm behind a firewall and my site is not accessible for public. :(
Note that after the installation, gender won't show up. You have to select it in your profile.
