Managing a Dev site?

How do some of you more experienced folks do it? I have a dedicated server etc etc. The problem is that with a database over 2gig it is a pain in the ARSE to copy the whole thing, re-set it up etc just to test.

How do some of you folks do it?

i dont use a copy of my database, i use a fresh install only and test things from there. but if you need your database try just copying the structure instead of all the entries etc.
