Hi all. :classic:

Is there a mod or hack available here that forces registered users (those with zero posts) to only be able to see in one thread and to have to respond to that before gaining access to the rest of the forums.

Here is my problem: There are several sites that compete with mine and several of my lurkers are regulars on the others sites. I don't want to ban them obviously, I don't want to offend them, I have tried PMing them and encouraging them to post. No luck.

It is a distinct possibility that several of my lurkers are spies. I want all new members to:

Not to be able to see anything, but the "introduce yourself" thread, until they do just that. (introduce themselves)
You could do that with a promotion.

Once they have more than one post they will be promoted to a usergroup that sees the whole forum.

Thanks for the reply Collin. If I remember correctly, aren't promotions a regular function in vB? I'm not familiar with them, I might be better off asking advice on them over the vB.com...

UPDATE-

I don't think I want to use the promotions system, it seems to be riddled with potential problems and downfalls. Perhaps, I will do more searching and then maybe post a service request.
