New on edit

i search the Mod "new on edit"

when i edit an old post then the thread markt as new..

It´s not good when i spend much time to edit some post and nobody know it...

I'm not sure about the actual doing of it... but wouldn't that be an easy way to bump up threads annoyingly if they were set as new by just editing a post in it?

No, i had this mod a lot of years in a wbb...and it makes nice work. It´s a qustion what kind of forum you have.. if you have a support forum for some things then you can say "an easy way to bump up threads annoyingly"

sometimes it's better to edit a post as to writing a new post. (antispam)

Hmm, that's pretty difficult.

One could update thread.lastpost, then the thread would show up as having new posts.

But as the actual post time doesn't change this will not help much for the problem , ppl will not know which post has been updated (if they don't carefully look for Edit notes), especially when thinkinig of a big thread.

If you also update the post time, the post might/will become out of order.
