View Full Version : Remove vbulletin version checking
Someone realised a hack a while back. I fogot what it was called but remember what it did.
It stoped the forum from checking if there was un update to vbulletin.
I need it because I test out my vb hacks on a computer that isn't connected to the internet and every time I go into the ACP, I have to wait while it looks for an internet connect.
Can someone help me find were this hack is? I spent almost an hour looking for it.

No, and no one will post the code for you either.
If you have the server properly configured it should timeout imedility.
You could also try disabling fopen in your php.ini

No it cannot. and no it is not illegal to do so here, however we feel that it should not be posted here in any form, and Jelsoft did not want it posted on their site.
Please respect the wishes of the company, you are more than welcome to do so yourself if you are capable enough to remove the code.

Now I'm wondering what else it does to provoke such an OTT reaction at the thought of removing it.
