Ok, so on any installation I have of VB, current my site is 3.0.3 and my test board is 3.0.5, I have this issue when modifying admincp/index.php.

whenever i put in new options (for ANY hack) to change the layout of the navigation pane links, it breaks the main frame and all the links open in a new window instead of the main frame. Can anyone offer me some advice on this?

also, if i take out the added options, the issue doesn't go away. I have to put a fresh copy of admincp/index.php to get the issue to go away...

what does this do? a second nav frame that leaves the orignal untouched? i've been having this problem ever since i installed my first hack. the thing i don't understand is why i have to overwrite the fixed index.php with a new copy. unless it has something to do with sessioning. but whatever it is, i appreciate you helping me.

Yep correct!

My Dual admin nav hack adds a second nav menu for your vb hack admin functions thus leaving the standard vb admin menu unchanged

I hope to release later today :)

have you tried clearing the chache on your pc? .... the issue should have fixed by uploading a clean 3.0.5 script ..... mayby your computer is giving you a chached page?

Just a thought

is your page in frames ok? would you mind letting me try your code, if that's allowed that is...?

at this point i tried a fresh index.php and functions_adminnavpanel.php with no avail.

trafix

ok im confused here ..... i only get the i frame as well with your file (deleted now)

try downloading the files again from vb com and then put up another clean unedited copy of the index file and see what happens

paulz

when i do that, it works fine. i'm gonna try doing the hack to the file in notepad instead of frontpage and see if that helps

yep good idea :) ... i did find where the problem is :)

It looks like frontpage id editing your frame tags :(

I suggest you download and install editplus and use that as your editor.

frontpage tends to do all sorts of silly stuff with files, and i dont recomend using it for ANYTHING.

LEAVE IT TO MICROSOFT TO SCREW MY FRAMES UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Frontpage was the culprit. I will know from now on to use wordpad/notepad to do anything for file edits. Thank you so much for your awesome hack and all your support trafix. People like you make this site a truly great place to be.
