View Full Version : Is 3.0.4 Breaking Modifications?

I have just upgraded a new forum I am building to 3.0.4 and am very happy with it as a stock product. Is seems quicker and more stable.
However, I have started to install some modifications (all of which I have on a 3.0.3 board) and some are doing some very weird things, up to and including creating DB errors.
And the strange thing is that the hacks which are causing the errors don't even require any MySQL changes.
Is anyone else having these problems, or have your board upgrades gone off without a hitch?

Matt upgraded his dev forums with the new uCS with no issues.

Cool, just must be me then.
And the error have been weird. On my Dev forum the QuickEdit hack has been generating MySQL errors with Xenon's Advanced Editing options hack. The advanced options hack has been generating MySQL errors with the post award hack. Read receipt hack has been forcing the system to notify all user with pop-up notification when they get new mail etc. etc.
I have even tried dropping all of the DB tables and re-installing the system from scratch and am still getting some problems. But, if no-one else is experiencing such problems, it must be something I am doing.
I must admit, I would have been surprised if vB had released something which would have caused these sort of problems.
Could be the file edits that have conflicting issues perhaps ?

Probably. I know that the worst one for this is the QuickEdit hack. I love it (one of my favourite front end mods) but I know of at least 2 other hacks which tend to break it. So I am now going to have to go through it all by hand and sort stuff out.
