View Full Version : Where Can I go to get a good programer?

Hi,

Here is the short of my situation. I have a good programmer but it looks like he's so busy that he doesn't have time to do the work on my vBulletin site that we both want to do.

Minimally I'd like to have a few of the 'hacks' installed including the front page and the newsgroup interface.

Over the next year, I’d like to move the hosting company, have a custom reviews section built, and include advertising on the site. Except for the reviews section, everything else should be very easy to do.

This is a start up project so money is very tight. I'd like to find someone who'd like to come on long term under a revenue sharing agreement. Whatever money the site makes we'd split.

Is their any place where I can look to find people interested in doing this? Is this something that is common? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike

I understand... but it is still beyond me. I understand the basics of what's going on but not the procedure of how to go about doing them... plus I work multiple jobs to keep our family's head above water. I simply don't have the time to teach myself how to do it.

Believe me when I say i'd prefer to do it myself. If their is anyone in the Raleigh NC area who could come out over a few sunday's and teach me the basics i'd be very happy to buy them dinner for their time, but even them i'm still time constrained.

The best bet is for me to find someone who can get it done, not just for today but for the next year as well.

sorry for the delay in responding, i'm very limited on time these days. Yes, right now it's just hacks I want installed on my forum. As time goes on i'd like to havemore advanced features programmed in including a nicer front page and a special reviews section.

what do you think is the best way to procede?

well there are alot of skilled ppl here at vb.org just goto the service requests section of the forum start a new thread and tell them exactly what you want they will then give you a quote on how much it would cost. i dont think theres many ppl out there that would help you for free as some hacks take alot of time to do. but just coz it costs doesnt mean its gonna cost you a fortune it wont. the ppl here arnt here to rip u off but to help you as much as possable.

i hope this has helped you out a little. :)
