Persistant connections... any good?

Eugh... just spent ages writing a long message... and it got deleted (server not found error!).

Basically, I was just wondering if turning Persistant Connections would be worthwhile on our site?

Daily Stats:
150,000 pages views (average)
15,000 uniques (average)

Server Stats:
2Ghz
1Gb RAM

I've found more problems running with it on, rather than off.

the best way to find out is to try it, monitor, and compare results.
