Cloning a thread

Heya,

I would like to see a hack that allows the cloning of a thread. For example; if a user posts a news items in a forum a moderator can decide to move it to the main news forum (which posts show up at the frontpage). Right now there are only the options to move/copy/leave redirect the thread etc. But if you copy the thread, there are 2 threads created...which is not really usefull for the same newsitem. Leaving a redirect only leaves the url, but not the description, viewcount etc. So it would be better if the thread was cloned so replies will be added to both threads...

Well, if you copy the thread than there are 2 threads and if someone replies to 1 of the threads, the other thread doesn't get updated...so eventually there will 2 totally different threads...The module I'm requesting should add an option to clone the thread, so that if someone replies to a cloned thread, both threads get updated with that reply...hope this is more clear...
