Does anyone have a simple roster page that builds off data from the userfields for population and, like the member list page, but is build off an id pulled from the membergroup, instead of the usergroup?

That they would be willing to share?

there was nice, simple vb2 hack for this, but nothing for vb 3.

No, vbwar is not only too complicated and overkill for what I need, but encrypted, so no thanks.

I want to build a roster page for our WoW guild...I've re-written all the templates to make the hack work in vb3, but...the sql/php file and queries completely eludes me.

May I ask what a "roster page" is?

a Roster page would be similiar to the memberlist, only a seprate page which just shows members who are in certain membergroups.

this was the thread for the original one I used until upgrading to vb3: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=34760&highlight=clan+hack

unfortunately, it pulls and counts from usergroups, not membergroups. nor does it seem to work with vb3 anyway.

Everyone I've asked seems to say "should be easy to fix, because it can be set up to pull from a member group and count from a member group instead of the usergroup"

But its completely beyond me, so I don't know whether that is true or false.

Have you asked Dark Wizzard if he is planning to port this hack, or if he does allow others to port it?

Yeah...about a year ago and he said he'd update it and help me get it working. I suppose changed his mind though, as he ignored any further PM's I sent him asking about it and ignores the post I made on his website.

I even offered him money.

I've probably spent a minimum 100 hours trying to make it work with membergroupids with both count and the build functions...I have the php/web page portion all built...but the the guts, the mysql/php portion just completely eludes me.

Anyway, he doesn't speak to me now apparently so I have no way of following up to find out if he'd let someone else port it.

Have you tried that one?

Yes, I did install it to see if I could get it to do what I needed, but it ulatimetely couldn't.

and its very much an overkill for the simple thing I need.

Plus...you have to manually add people to the teams...

Plus, I can't put any of the information I need on that member roster, such as information from profile fields I have added.

I asked him for help as well...but ultimately his schedule and the difficulty of communicating what I needed seemed to kill it.

I'm useing a wow roster from wowprofilers.com. Its real cool, just need to find someone willing to integrate it into vbulletin and it would be perfect, at least for what I want it for. If I ever get some petty cash, I'll check out rent-a-coder and pay for the integration which would then be released to this community. anyway, hope that helps.

Actually, a simple roster page for usergroups would be very handy. I realize this is for memberid but perhaps having the option would work well.

They way that i have made my roster on my site is to create usergroups and named them based on the roles that i have within my clan.

I then simply add a user to the respective user group for there respective role. I then click on view forum leaders and it shows my roster as such, i then have a link on my home page that states roster and simply directs you to the view forum leaders section.!!!!!!

This was the easiest way that i could find to do this and i hope it helps.

Thanks. Wayne showed me how to add an option in AdminCP --> Usergroups that would ask whether or not to show the usergroup in the roster page. The roster page could be a duplicate of showgroups.php.

However, I have not figured out the MySQL query to include in the new showgroups (the php page that builds Forum Leaders, by the way) page that would only show the usergroups you selected in the AdminCP.
