Is there an easy way to check the "age" of a thread?

Hey all...

I want to have some functionality that depends on the age of a thread. That is... when displaying a thread, or the summary of the thread on the forum display, I want to change something depending on how long it has been since the thread was posted.

Is there any easy way to do this?
