This hack allows your users to search for new posts in subscribed forums. In this way, they can specify once what post subjects they are interested in and easily check only the threads on those topics since their last visit. This hack also allows searching for "Today's New Posts" in subscribed forums, but doesn't add it to the interface since by default, the Today's New Posts is only displayed to guests, who have no subscriptions.
I'm almost positive that at some point this was said to be coming in vB3, and when it wasn't in it I had considered implimenting it but never got arround to it. I finally made it at the prompting of RockFort.
This hack requires modifications to one file and two templates, it also adds five phrases.
In the instructions for the navbar template modification, there are two paths; one to add another navbar item for new posts in subscribed forums, one to change the new posts option into a drop down. Only do one path or the other, or your users may question your memory or sanity :p.
This hack has been tested on vB3.0.3
