Help out a newbie please! I don't know how to hack :(

Well, I am installing these hacks, and I am doing absolutely wonderful, except for the "phrase" part. I have never come across this before (I mostly hacked phpBB before), and I was wondering, what the heck are phrases? Where do I find them to add them or modify them?

Just a guess cause I'm a newb too, but you add phrases in the phrase manager in the admincp.
